is she still nursing? Nursing burns ALOT of calories. The same thing happened to two of my cats. Once they stopped nursing they put weight back on.

If the kittens are still nursing, or only recently weaned, this puts a tremendous strain on the mother's system. She will literally absorb her own body tissues to produce milk for the kittens. The problem is worse if the mom has worms, is getting poor quality and/or insufficient food, or was skinny to start with.

I'd suggest checking her for worms, or just get her dewormed on general principles; the kittens should be dewormed as well. Mama cat should be getting kitten food until she gets some weight back on. (And my kitten food I mean something good, not that WalMart crap.) The kittens should be discouraged from nursing; if necessary limit their time with mom but don't separate them completely.

A visit to your vet would be wise; there could be things going on that obviously can't be seen through a computer.

Is she nursing still? If so then you have no worries! Nursing burns alot of calories. That's why she eats all the time. I really think there is nothing to worry about because you said she eats all the time, Sick cats usually don't eat at all. But if your still worried about her then take her to the vet. Every kitty needs a good check up now and then. Especially a mommy! Hope this helps!

It sounds like she needs to been seen by a vet. If you can't afford to take her to one, contact your ASPCA or Humane Society and explain the situation. They can help you out and get her medical care.

It sounds like she may have some retained placenta or a baby that didn't come out and that would make her very sick. I am not a vet, but I had a cat and this happened to her. Please, call around and get her seen!

Could be from having babies...but that is also a sign of diabetes. I would take her to the vet.
