If God created the universe, then who or what created him? If he created himself, how did he do it?
Furthermore, when he first was created, how did he get all this power so he could create the universe?

We tend to think in terms of before or after, because we live in a stream or matrix of time. But remember, the laws of time only have meaning in this physical universe where we live (which He created). God is not under any such laws, of time or anything else. When we say He is eternal, it means that He will have no end, of course, but it also means that He had no beginning.
Blessings to you!

My only way to answer this is that linear time does not apply here. Consider this, a planet needs a God really really bad becuase there are some not so friendly inhabitants (humans). Humans in a desperate attempt to cull their natural feelings towards one another choose to create a concept. After several thousand years this concept makes a person called God.

All of a sudden things about God are needed. When was he created or born? who is he and why does he care about foolish mortals? What is a God? Where exactly is he? In an effort to clear up this confusion they offer the most bland choice.

God has always been around. He likes mortals becuase they are his prize creation. God is an all powerful omnipotent being that happens to exist everywhere.

If you would like to hear a slightly more reasonable explaination let me offer my opinion of this matter.

First and formost is that God is not all powerful, he, like us was created for a purpose. God was in fact created by people, there was at some point a universal thought, a thought so powerful it created this being. God being a very wise entity does not live anywhere near this universe, instead he looks from very far away and adjusts a few things as he deams them appropriate, occasionally granting a wish or two.

I would bet your a bit curious about what made everything capable of making Gods and the like, should you believe this equally insane story. I believe it is the Grand Prophecy. What is the Grand Prophecy, It is a principle that all things self manifesting are self restricting. That at some point those things living or unliving in fact chose such forms, they gave themselves a purpose so divine and so grand, they must live out the form they have chosen until that goal is complete, or should the option of failure be a reasonable alternate, they can choose to simply opt out.

In the end it comes down to one thing, did at any point time matter in the creation of destiny? If it never mattered, then we would have been capable of creating a God before we existed.

Welcome to the insanity that is living, when it comes to a God nothing makes sense, its something all religious people must live with.

To the truth,
Silence

"God" exists outside of our universe and outside our time. That is the only logical explanation for everything.
Nothing can create itself.
Nothing can exist without being caused.
God is a concept beyond the current human mind, meaning the reason for everything is a concept beyond the current human mind.
I'm not being offensive (please don't report me I'm just trying to explain the unexplainable) but try thinking of God as a scientist and the universe as an experiment contained entrirely within a petri dish. God put everything into the universe and things are interacting, growing and evolving. God may exist in another petri dish being watched through a microscope by another scientist. This line of thinking can lead to brain meltdown. The best option is to form your own belief (or disbelief) and just live well, treat people as you would want to be treated, and eat 5 servings of vegetables every day.

I THINK TLKCV JUST ABOUT SUMMED IT RIGHT UP. Was longgggggggggg but a lot of things he said made sense.

Every religion has a different version, I guess you believe whatever you feel is the truth. For every answer there is still a question. All I know is that the world didn't just appear, there was a beginning. There had to be a higher being that started it all.

We are conditioned by our experience to think that everything has an origin and cause. But God is the initial condition - without cause or origin.
Hard to understand? Yes, it is, because we are limited in our time span and ability to understand the infinite. But just finding it impossible to conceive or understand doesn't make it incredible. The fact that a fly has no concept of the universe doesn't make Mars cease to exist!

The concept of God was "created" by man so he wouldn't feel so alone in this life and so life would have purpose. It's a big mass delusion propagated by a book that was written by man. Even the bible itself says it is not historically accurate but yet it is taken as solid truth, beginning to end.

It scares me that so many people believe the bible is fact, beginning to end. Truly scares me.

The Bible says without beginning or end, My Parents allways told me not to play with invisible playmates or matches maybe you should try that course of thinking.

The human mind can not comprehend this, this being. It's just, there always was, time had not begun, there was nothing but Him. There are not any answer's to your questions.

It is hard to comprehend, but God has always existed. He has no beginning and no end.
