It is a total myth, there is absolutely no medical evidence that it can cause arthritis, but done constantly it can weaken your fingers temporarily. Crack away!
"There is no evidence that cracking your knuckles inflames the joints and leads to arthritis. The cracking causes the bones to pull apart, forming a gas bubble and breaking the adhesive seal in the joint. Crack! About a quarter of the people in the U.S. crack their knuckles and might begin to lose their grip a little. Constant cracking can weaken the fingers. "

Yes! Doctors will tell you to stop bc it can cause several problems later on! Arthritis, big knuckles, Joint pain, swelling tendons, grip strength loss (which I am getting, but mines not purposely done), and more! Orthopaedicians say that bits of cartilage are torn away each time the joints are cracked. You may have joint pain if you do not crack them, Which is a response similar to a withdrawal symptom. If your joints crack when you move or bend, you need not worry. But if you crack them on purpose, think twice before you turn it into a habit. It may cause you grief in future.
