Someone told me to use tea tree oil for lice, because they hate it. Would it work on my cats to help deter fleas also?

Ok, one more thing, for some reason the fleas have built up a resistance to Frontline plus, It seems as though they are building up a resistance to Advantage also. I have used both. The only thing I have not done was bathe them. I don't plan to get into a cat fight with them, especially my eleven year old cat, by forcing them to get a bath. I was just wondering if anyone has ever used tea tree oil on their dogs or cats and if it might work.

Oh yeah and I've already treated the house too. I have used bombs, powders, sprays, yard treatment. like sevin dust for instance, etc. The fleas are becoming really resilient to any treatment now, so I was thinking of going back to natural treatments. But thank you all who answer, I do appreciate the feedback on this.

Don't use anything on your cat before clearing it with a vet first. Lots of human safe things are not cat safe also.

Is it possible your house has fleas? That can happen and once the fleas are in the furniture and carpets, you need to treat the house and not just the cats. Talk to your vet about managing the flea problem with the cats and the house. There are products you can get for the furniture and carpets....yes, they are nasty chemicals but if you have an infestation, it's the best way to get rid of them. It'll only get worse as the summer goes on so consider getting everyone (you, family, pets) out of the house and a good flea cleansing (flea bombing, washing everything down after) it if you see fleas jumping in your home.
