We fear death because don't want to leave Earth and because it is where all our stuff and loved ones are and we just don't want to loose it all. Also some people think dying is very painful and once there dead its all over and nothing else is going to happen. I believe that dying isn't always painful it depends how you die and some people think dying's bad because of hell. And if you were a christian or Catholic you will go to heaven. Some people think praising God is a waste of life and they don't do it and also think everyone gets reincarnated. There is and amazing universe but i don't think you go there once you die.

Many reasons.

The fear of the unknown...

Or the uncertainty if you will go to heaven or hell as popularized by most religions....

Or the "How": painful, quick, violent, peaceful...

People have been doing it for a long time - ya think we could catch a clue along the way!

The two are compatible. "In the beginning, God created light." The Big Bang also began with a great burst of light. You can believe in both.

Best wishes.

Yes, there is an amazing universe out there. Too bad we're stuck on this one little rock and don't get to enjoy it.

Lake of hope in eternity produces fear of death. Man tries to explain everything and wishes to be his own author but realizes his incapability only when he realizes that he has to submit to death without appeal.

The one who has faith in eternity has no fear of death.
