Will compressing my WMA or iTunes songs and then burning them to a CD cause a loss in quality?

If you use a lossless compression algorithm (like Apple Lossless which is available in iTunes) then no - though it will only compress to about 1/2 the original size. Obviously there is a trade-off between lossless and lossy algorithms.

Passing data through a lossy algorithm will results in some loss of information each time. Whether or not you can "tell the difference" only you can decide.

But consider this, a decade from now when you have that 20 channel 3D super symphonic sound card that can discern that level of detail, well, you've thrown away the data and can never get it back An interpolation algorithm can only "best guess" what you have thrown away.

Once a song has been converted to a WMA or ITune file it has already lost some quality. If you use a lossless compression utility afterwords on the files they will remain the same quality as the original WMA or iTune File.

i'm not positive why that befell. yet all you may want to do is make a playlist (click the plus interior the bottom lefthand nook) then placed the songs you want to burn there and in inspite of order. insert a sparkling cd. something will arise declaring like "you've inserted a sparkling cd now choose a playlist" in simple terms go out out of it. now on the playlist web page, on the bottom accurate it says burn disk in black. click that, adjust settings and that's going to artwork. otherwise, I even do not understand.

As long as you keep them around 98kb/s you shouldn't notice very much quality degredation. Above that. most people can't tell a difference if its encoded at 128kbs. Above that is usually a waste and for audiophiles.
