You can still download updates (i believe) but microsoft is cracking down on illegal copying

Go to the Microsoft website and ask them! There is a "contact us" place at almost every website!

If your OS is copied/pirated you probably wont be able to download directly from Microsoft.
Try a search in google (sorry yahoo) to see if someone is hosting it online, for example:
?intitle:index.of? * (* being the [software name].exe )

if xp isnt genuine, you cant download software i dont think

you can't download sp, You are still able to download, but sometimes it will prompt you a message
