Well from a guys point of view i think you should talk about how much you like hI'm, things you wanna do with him, how his day went, tell him you love him ( if you do ) ask him what does he like about you because im sure he needs something to talk about too. So then when you ask him what he likes about you it gives you time to think of more to say and then you will be able to find out if he really likes you .........that's all for me!!

Just tell him that you miss himand that you love him,and that you have something special planned for him when he gets back home,like maybe a romantic picnic?

tell him how much he means to you
ask how his day has been
answer his problems as best you can
support his choices (within reason)
tell him how you have missed him and wish he was with you
make him laugh
