I made an appointment a few days ago to get a perm today. I arrived and was denied one. I explained on the phone that my hair was long but they said it was too long. They told me they could cut off about a foot and a half and then consider giving me one.

I said thanks and walked out. Didn't help that they were major bitches through the entire ordeal (they were rude when I first walked in, like I didn't belong there).

My question is, have you ever been denied services? I know I'm a different case because my hair was too long for the service I wanted, but still...

What services have you been denied?

Someone asked what type of perm I was going in for. I heard a spiral perm would be best for my length of perm and I checked it out. That was exactly what I wanted.

So when I said I wanted a spiral, they said it couldn't be done.

Stylist these days do not want to perm longer hair, because some:1 are afraid, 2. they don't know how, and 3. it could cause them to loose clients 4. it takes too long. 5. for the bitches, they were just jealous. So many are wearing the quick weave, extension, anything to make their hair look good.

Don't worry, find someone that will take good care of your hair. Do not cut your hair. (If you were in the Dallas Texas area, I would do your hair myself.)

They didn't want to do the perm because they did not now how, you do not need to cut any of it off either. Be glad they denied you the perm,it could have been a disaster since they don't know how to do it. Since your hair is so long,if you color it, do not get a perm, that could be a huge disaster to. Don't worry about how they acted, just go to several different salons and ask their opinion. You might want to think twice about getting a perm on your long hair though, if you don't like it or it ruins your hair, then what?

I have never been denied a service BUT....depending on the salon policy, they do have the right not to serve people. Usually there is a sign posted. If you want to complain to the owner, you have every right to do that. what kind of perm were you going to get? Spiral perms are best for long hair and I don't understand why you were denied if that is what you were going to pay for!!

i was almost denied and we got into an argument and they finally backed down. my hair gets bleached out in the summer with nice light blonde streaks that actually look like i had them professionally done. i can't help this, it just happens. well, i went in and the lady insisited that i had just had my hair colored and she wouldn't perm it. i kept telling her i had spent a LOT of time outside and that it's natural and she didn't believe me and said she wouldn't give me a perm. we went back and forth and she finally said she would do it but it's not her problem if my hair gets fried from being permed so soon after i had it colored. when all was said and done and my hair hadn't fallen out, i pointed this out to her and told her thank you for the perm but since she was such a ***** she wasn't getting a tip.

You should never be denied services unless the service is absolutely unethical. They probably didn't know what they were doing. If you were denied at more than one salon then somethings wrong. Always in that case seek the owner and make sure you get the names of the people that treated you so unfairly.

Be glad they didn't do your hair, never let people with bad nasty attitudes do anything for you b/c they will almost never do it right. I've been denied service (food service) from a manager with poor customer service skills before they worry about everything but the needs of the customer. You don't need that eventually what will happen is you will find someone who will appreciate your business. good luck

I was denied a perm at one time because I had used that Herbal Essence highlighting foam, and they said that if I permed my hair that it would most likely fall out.

I have... my stylist denied my perm, but only because she said my hair wasn't healthy enough to endure the process. In your case though, sometimes stylists don't wanna do long hair.

I was denied a dry cut because my hair was too long and thick and curly! They said I HAD to have it shampooed and blow dried and not just dampened with the water spray. I went elsewhere!
