I tried ground beef and sausage blended together, and it was AWESOME.... any other ideas?

I dunno....hamburger meat sounds good enough for me. In fact, the meatier, the better!
To all you vegans out there: c'mon....taste is better than worrying if the "precious widdle animal" has suffered or not.

Ground beef is the staple. Ground turkey is good. I also like andouille sausage, casing removed and the meat browned and crumpled in the sauce. Actually, ANY pork sausage tastes great in spaghetti. Also favortied of mine are veal and venison.
You can also go to a white sauce and use mussels, clams, and/or baby shrimp. mmmmm baby shrimp.

My local grocery store sells a pack that has a combination of beef, chicken, and pork ground up. I tried that one night and it was great.

Sliced Italian sausage -- cut like coins, not ground.

You might like this personally, I don't, but my mom tried venison once. My dad loved it, but I am a city girl, so the only red meat I eat is cow.

minced lean steak & trimmed bacon. with a tomato base sauce. Or ham with a carbonara sauce

pork or chicken but only if it's shredded and not cubed
easy to shred, pre cook it then pull it off the bone and into shreds with your fingers :)
