Orajel is good. If you don't have that take a piece of clove and chew on it. It numbs the area but takes a few minutes to work. I also will brush my teeth with hydrogen peroxide real good then finish with tooth paste. It also works for me. Going to the dentist will get rid of it for good.

Quick fixes?

Brush your teeth and/or floss.
Mouthwash.
Oragel.
Pack in and around the tooth / gumline with a paste of salt.
Clove oil.

Long term?
Well, you already know that one.

I hope you're feeling better!

Asprin crushed on it, whiskey soaked on it, or go to the dentist and fill or pull it.
