Its enough that christians harm our children in so many other ways now on my sons school calendar they have winter break written as "Christmas Break"

This is a clear violation of the law and it seeks only to currupt, discriminate , and alienate other children.

5 parents and I have decided to take this to court and hurt the school by suing for monetary damages.
I am a firm beliver keep your christian pagan beliefs in your homes and keep them out of our schools.
I will also contact the ACLU monday morning. I am going to make a big stink about this.

Americas religion is ot christianity, it is a diverse culture with different religions and beliefs.

OMG! Are you serious?

You people obviously have way too much time on your hands. You think this is a problem? Why don't you take some of this extra time you have and go feed some starving kids. You obviously have way more money than brains, dumba$s!

It is people like you who clog up the judicial system with petty, trivial lawsuits because someone hurt your feelings. Then murderers and rapists and child-molesters end up going free on technicalities or because they did not get a timely trial.

And who pays the bill if you win? The taxpayers. That would be you. You will be suing yourself. That's really bright!

Get over yourself!

The reason the schools are crappy is because people like you suing over the most stupidest thing, GROW UP!

Do you not think schools need the money more for books and teachers rather than to satisfy your greed for wanting to sue because they make a mistake in putting "Christmas Break" instead of something like "Winter Holidays."

No wonder the world is going down the drain! GREED! GREED! GREED!

Oh hey I don't like this statement, I know lets sue!

People like you make me sick!

I live in Belfast, and the schools here are all public schools run by the "CHRISTIAN BROTHERS!" They are all either catholic or protestant schools, and there are now many people with different religious views living here, and they know that for their children to get the best education, then the best option is to send them to one of these schools, therefore they learn about their own religion at home and christianity in school, which helps everyone understand a bit more. And over here they are thinking of teaching all religions in schools to everybody! The reason there is so much fear is that not enough is known about other people's religions! If these all where taught in America I bet there would be less crime related to religion!

Although not official, the US is a predominantly Christian(ish) country. Your kids would not have any IN school days if every ones holidays were celebrated. It is convenient to have all schools closed at the same time for breaks, socially and commercially.
Christmas as it is currently celebrated, has nearly nothing to do with the Christian purpose at any rate. Also, where I went to college, all of the Jewish holidays were celebrated, at the expense of some of the Christian ones. I 'm not Jewish, and it didn't get my shorts in a bunch over the matter. I was a minority in that group plain and simple, and let it go at that.

RELAX! Have you talked with the school board? Perhaps become part of the board. Talk with the school about how they could change the word to winter break. You do really have a point, though. Maybe you should try to find out how many children are christian, and how many are other religions(Jewish, etc.) and make a pie graph to present. If you have done this and they refuse, you could take it to court. But don't make it a huge issue.

Does it really affect you that much that your children's vacation is called 'Christmas Break?' Who the **** cares? Do you see your children stressing over this? No! All they see is 'break' which means vacation to them. Give them a break! You are going to scarr your children for life if you make a big deal about this because you don't see them caring and much less being negatively affected by the name of their friggin' vacations!

Chill out. It's just a name that everyone uses, it doesn't even have that much of a meaning now like it's supposed to.

And does the name really alienate other children? How? Does it say on the bottom of the paper: "All those non-christians are not allowed to leave for the break." or something?

Jeez lady, it's just a name!

Take your children out of the school system and home educate them . You can then write ANYTHING on their school calender. Hopefully, you will be awarded enough money from this case to afford home schooling, since you will have to give up your current job and take on the new responsibility. I'm sure you will do a MUCH BETTER job than the school system.

For your information, I'm a Christain but do NOT celebrate Christmas!

Lord, get off your soapbox and get over it!!

It's people like you that make this country so f***ed up. We now have to watch every single move we make and every comment we say. When I was a kid, we had Christmas trees in the lobby of the school, dressed up for Halloween and had Easter egg hunts. School isn't even fun for kids anymore cause the school boards have to worry about nuts like you suing them.

What a waste of our tax dollars tahat law suit is going to be. Why do you feel the need to make monetary gain from a public school, when THAT MONEY SHOULD GO TO THE KIDS?!?

If you sue the school and win, the taxpayers must foot the bill. If you own a house in the town that the school is in, you will be paying for your own money. Suing a school is never a good idea except in EXTREME circumstances, because it hurts everyone. There are more effective ways to get what you want; I'm sure that if you respectfully and politely request that the break be re-titled "Winter Break", in deference to our separation of church and state, the school board will comply.

Oh, for crying out loud! CHRISTMAS IS THE HOLIDAY!!!!!!! The holiday that is being celebrated is Christmas. It is not Christians pushing their beliefs on you, except maybe in your mind. Christmas is hardly even a Christian holidy anymore anyway! People have it so twisted up with Santa Clause that no one but Christians even care about the Jesus part anymore! Get the hell over it!

yes and be sure to also make them go to school on Saturday and Sunday, since we can not make them take off for the Sabboth or for Christian holy days.

And we need to be sure we don't take any Christmas holidays at work either.

But of course Amercia was founded on Christianity and its schoools were once all christian and religous material was part of the early reading material.

The ACLU and those who worship it for thier God are the biggest threat and the most dangerous terror group in America.

And why sue for money, if it is for values, or why use the ACLU and not merely hire your own attorneys if this is so importatnt ???
