We have a serious lice problem. My little sister has been treated ten times, my mom has treated everything with the Rid, but they still keep coming back. I have had to treat my house and family as well because everytime my little sister comes around, the lice show back up. Is there any way we can permanently get this problem taken care of? Anything else out there that will kill the lice and their eggs. We have treated everything from heads to bedding to stuffed animals to the furniture even the yard. Please is there anything else we can do...we are so tired of constantly treating and treating and treating.?!

If your sister has been treated numerous times and still has lice, they may have developed a resistance to the store shampoos. She needs to see a doctor about getting prescription strength products.

Care needs to be taken during the combing process to make sure that all the nits are out of the hair. If even one egg remains, there is a chance for reinfestation.

After treatment with the shampoo, your mother needs to get an electronic lice comb. (They sell these at most drug stores.) This needs to be used every single day, at least twice a day, to comb through the hair to make sure that the lice is gone from the hair. It's battery operated, and will buzz while the hair is combed. If a nit or louse is combed out, the device will zap it to kill it, and then will shut down so you can brush the nit or louse out of the comb. Hopefully this will get each little louse before it has time to migrate or reproduce.

After combing, and after shampooing every day, put a few drops of "Tea Tree Oil" on your palms, rub your hands together, and then run it through the hair. Lice hate that stuff. (You can get it at health food stores.) I'd do this for everyone's hair in the entire household.

You will have to completely treat the home, all stuffed animals, carpet, bedding, everything, again and again. Throughly saturate things with the spray. Bag up the stuffed animals and bedding in plastic bags, and place them into the attic or other area where they will get super hot. Leave them there for at least a week. At alternative to this is to put things in the dryer on a long hot cycle to kill the nasty little things.

And by the way, did you know lice like clean hair better than dirty hair? The clean hair is easier for them to grab onto. The dirty hair is slick from the oils, and the can get a good grip.

Get this lice shampoo that they sell. It might not eliminate them permanently, but it does eliminate them from you body every day. Talk to your doctor too. Also get a pesticide company, if it is a serious problem

You should talk to your doctor. I'm sure he/she can recommend something.
Good luck!
