Braiding your hair when wet usually gives you the wave you may want. My tip to getting my hair wavy is something I don't know will work on you, but....I wash my hair right before going to sleep. You can use hairspray, leave-in conditioner-whatever you do after you wash your hair. Feel free to toss and turn all you want while sleeping. It helps curl your hair. When you wake up, your hair will have much volume and waves. Good luck.

why don't you try it and see? my hair is straight as a board, and scrunching it with a ton of mousse and hairspray does nothing but make it all clump together, but for some people it may work.

Get a perm. Not a FULL one where's it curly, but you can get one to make it wavy.
