The life saving drugs I am referring to are a direct result of research into human genetics, which is directly tied into and dependant on evolutionary theory being true.

I believe that most young earth creationists simply do not understand to what degree biochemical and biological research is based and dependent on evolutionary theory.

The prevalent view in this group of people seems to be that "evolution" is primarily a philosophical viewpoint rather than a scientific theory such as the "theory of gravity" or the "theory of electromagnetism".

Of course to scientists it is obvious that nothing in biochemistry makes sense without evolution, but it's not so easy to explain to someone who has no concept of what genes or proteins even are...

Well, Some of the most powerful drugs are made from Nature. God created Nature. As far as evolution, lets boil it down to the very, very basic. I mean 1st grade basic.
thought number one. God created Man and all the animals.
Thought number 2, By some freak accident, lighntning struck a mud puddle with some enzymes in them and they came to life. and over a million years they evolved into monkeys, them monkeys to Neanderthal then to some sort of missing link cave man the to modern man. We still have monkeys, where are all the ones in the middle????
Just a thought

But since evolutionary theory is NOT true, there must be some other reason. That is, macro-evolution is not true. You need to differentiate between macro-evolution and micro-evolution. Most evolutionists do not seem to be able to understand the difference between these.

genetic research does not require evolution that's probably why and those pharmaceutical companies making drugs are very rarely the "scientists" researching evolution so one thing really has nothing to do with the other

It may be tied into the micro-evolutionary theory being correct, but not the macro-evolution theory. They are vastly different.

Because there is no such thing as true fundamentalism. When it comes down to it, people's beliefs are always achieved buffet style. That is, I'll believe in science when it can save my ***, but not when I can make a big, pious stance at no personal cost.

please you need to read more science books. medicine has nothing to do with evolution. God gave us science, the ability to reason and do studies. so there for we have medicine. and just as you said evolution "theory" thats is all it is, will ever be, and never a fact or truth. sorry.
