The qualifications to meet are physical and mental. You can be Black, White, Brown, Yellow, or even red, but you better not be Green. Your height can be from 5foot to 7foot as long as you are able to preform the physical requirements.
I was never asked my religious preference nor did I ask others theirs. If during any mental or physiological test it is determine that an person could not be suitable then he/she shall be removed from the program.
If you are inquiring because of morals it would be determined by qualified professionals that each person is able to be placed in the heat of battle and dependable to make rational decisions, with out jeopardizing themselves and their team.

Can you swim? Can you run~ a lot? Can you pass BUDS (seal training)? If you answer yes... then yes you can be a SEAL. Christian religion doesn't stop you from being a protector of your country. As far as the scientist part... are you talking about holding a job in the civilian sector and being a SEAL also? If so, no. Most of the time the military only wants you to hold one job if you are active duty...

Why wouldn't a christian be allowed to be a seal? It doesn't matter what religion you are to be a seal. The part about being a scientist i have no clue, but i'd guess it would depend on what kind of scientist you wanted to be.

Navy Seals are admirable by the number of tests (both physical and mental) they have excelled at and the great service they have done for the country in times of military peril.
This doesn't stop them from lieing for political purpose.

if you are going to talk about SEALs than show some respect and type SEALs, its an acronym and is all capitalized. and yes you can be whatever you want and be a SEAL, you simply must be in the Navy, pass the PST, eye exams, meet age requirements and ASVAB scores and pass BUD/s, SQT, jump school.

I don't see why either of those would disqualify you from being a SEAL. I mean, you wouldn't be a chaplain or a chemist for the SEALs, or anything like that, but you can go and blow stuff up for them.
