There are several categories of World's busiest Airports; they are -busiest by passenger traffic, busiest by international passenger traffic, busiest by cargo traffic, and busiest by traffic movement. This fluctuates semi annually between those claiming to be the busiest. There is serious competition between several countries vying to have the largest and busiest through construction and passenger traffic.
London Heathrow claims to have the most international passenger traffic in the world, while Chicago-O'Hare claims the largest traffic in the USA. These claims are disputed amongst other countries such as Hong Kong, Dubai(UAE), China, etc. Check out Wikipedia.com. As far as largest in square feet, Saudi Arabia claims to have one of if not the largest, which services military and civilian aircraft.
