Awww...come on. Not all of us do that. I haven't and won't. I encourage others to follow the path that is right for them regardless of whether or not I agree with it. The only thing that matters is that you agree with it. Please, see that the glass really is half-full of tolerant people.

You are setting yourself up to be ridiculed! Your question implies a lack of an understanding of the English language. And you are generalizing therefore becoming guilty of what you are idicting " all other religions " .
Inter-cultural exchange is always difficult but if you want respect you have to give respect. When you wave a broad brush and paint everyone with your accusations you're going to elicit respones from those who don't disrespect Islam or any other point of view. Of course, the tone of those responses will vary depending on whose feathers you've ruffled but then I'm sure you can understand that correct?
"The questions and answers on this site is very rude and from what I can tell. None of u can relate or even answer any questions about Islam because ur ignorance will not let u."
And just to clarify, that last paragraph is what you wrote.
When you say "We do not disrespect any other religion" of whom are you speaking? All of the Islamist that exist? I don't think so. And that, my friend, is exactly the point.
You are correct in saying that ignorance will not let one see or relate to another's point of view, but ignorance is an equal opportunity employer.
The key to tolerance is to learn how to not be offended.

I am a Hindu and I do have a great deal of respect for Islam. I have had many Muslim friends in my life (sadly each of them has moved away, but they were great friends while they were here....they were here for university studies and only one of them was Arab Muslim, the rest were Muslim but were American citizens and of various different racial backgrounds including European). I miss them, but they did teach me a lot about Islam. I'll still admit ignorance on my part. I know there is still so much more that I do not know or understand. Of course, because of this I try very hard not to answer any questions about Islam

First of all let look at the definition of Religion From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Religion is a human phenomenon that defies easy definition. It is commonly understood as a group of beliefs or attitudes concerning an object (real or imagined), person (real or imagined), or system of thought considered to be supernatural, sacred, or divine, and the moral codes, practices, values, institutions, and rituals associated with such belief or system of thought. It is sometimes used interchangeably with "faith" or "belief system
There fore to answer your question, let look at attitude too, People can also be "ambivalent" towards a target, meaning that they simultaneously possess a positive and a negative attitude.
Most attitudes in individuals are a result of social learning from the environment.
Therefore, people who dont believe in islam respect us because they can judge between positve and negative attitudes of islam moral codes, beliefs and values but this is also subjective according to each individual.

Am so sorry that others do not respect your religion. but as far as I am concerned...most religions are the cause of all the world's problems. Live and let live. The world's problems have always revolved around religion. Personally I would just rather sit by myself and pray to whatever supreme being there is. You must consider that the main problem today is because of religion. I do agree however, that the Christian right has maintained their dominance throughout the world and that is not right.

Having read the Q'uran, I can assure you that there is nothing to hate about Islam as it is practiced by most of it's followers. As a religion, it's too goofy to hate.
However, it contains all the hate mongering hallmarks of every other Middle Eastern religion. That alone is enough cause for people not to respect it's followers. The followers of Islam are no better or worse than the Jehovah or Jesus worshipers. Like them, Allahs minions seem to ignore everything in their "Holy" texts that they don't personally agree with.
No offence, but you bring it on yourselves just as the Christians do. Al Quida chooses to base their beliefs on certain aspects of the Q'uran. To their credit, most Allah worshipers base their faith on kinder, gentler scriptures. However, at the same time, they denounce those of their faith that choose to follow more aggressive tenets of the faith. Like Christians, they often deny that the passages telling the faithful to kill unbelievers do not even exist.
You say you do not disrespect people of other religions. Do you realize that according to the Q'uran, you shouldn't even be talking to people of other religions? Clearly, by simply asking this question in a forum of infidels, you are disrespecting your own religion. You choose to disbelieve the instructions of your own holy book. Per Allah, you are doomed. How can anyone take you seriously about your faith now?
Like the Christians, most followers of Islam do not follow the instructions of their own Holy books. Personally, I believe that is because most Christians and Muslims know deep down that they follow religions of dubious morality. Again, this is to their credit.

It's not the people who don't believe in Islam, it's people that don't believe in God. I'm Roman Catholic and do not believe in being disrespectful to other religions. I have found that the secular world is against anything to do with God and most intolerant - it is very sad.
Personally, I think more work needs to be done ecumenically whereby we, the religious laity, work together to help each other - Catholics, Muslim, Jewish, etc. We are all being attacked for believing in God and loving Him who has blessed us richly in our lives. They have seen what fanatics have done and classified all of those who believe in God and placed us under th same banner.
Do not take it personally, remember, they are merely ignorant, and perhaps with our taking the time showing our peace, love and caring, they too will find what it is to have a relationship with God. Each of us is here to help the other obtain that relationship and help those that have found it to go further and deeper within it.
As my favourite Saint said, Bl. Mother Teresa of Calcutta,
"There is only one God and He is God to all; therefore it is important that everyone is seen as equal before God. I’ve always said we should help a Hindu become a better Hindu, a Muslim become a better Muslim, a Catholic become a better Catholic. We believe our work should be our example to people. We have among us 475 souls - 30 families are Catholics and the rest are all Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs—all different religions. But they all come to our prayers."
It is this philosophy that I strive to enact in my daily life, whether I'm meeting another Christian, or meeting a Muslim or Sikh - that we should strive to continually bring people closer to God regardless of their religion.
God Bless!

Its mostly ignorance sister. People normally hear only bad things about Islam and instead of checking the facts they believe it. I also have to say its other muslims who give Islam a bad name. Some of the muslims in here are also rude to non-muslims and give all of us muslims a bad name. So my advice to you is to stick to the real principals of Islam and deal kindly with EVERYBODY. If we keep doing this more people will see the real Islam. May Allah forgive and guide us. Ameen

I grew up in South Texas, where I could not name a single Muslim in my home town. Thus, my only exposure to Islam came through the television, where all I see is murder and mayhem. I've moved elsewhere in the US, and have gotten to know Muslims. They're like everyone else. Largely good, honorable, and decent human beings trying to make it through this world like the rest of us. Ignorance.
Of course, Osama bin Laden certainly isn't doing Islam any favors in the realm of public relations.
In short, blame a combination of ignorance and Islamist terrorism.

I'm a little confused cause at first it sounded like you do feel respected here and then you say you don't. I'm sorry that you have had that experience here. I for one have tried to be very kind and respectful toward all the Muslim questions and Have reported anyone who was not nice.
I don't know how many reports a person has to have to be deleted but since it's anonymous can I get some help with this please?
