Because the higher one's metabolism, the more calories the body can burn. So, if you eat 2000 calories and have a high metabolism you will probably burn them all up and not gain any weight, maybe lose. If you eat 2000 and have a slow metabolism that doesn't use all those calories you will gain weight. Calories in, calories burned, simple. If you burn more than you take in, you lose. If you burn less than you take in, you gain.

Yes, think of it like this. If you rev up an engine, it'll burn more fuel, so it's the same for your body. You increase your metabolism, and it'll use up more fat......in turn losing weight. Best of luck to you.........
