I'm 31 and gay so i know where this question is coming from. They fear what they don't understand. And as people they attack what they fear. I don't listen to them. I know i'm a good person, that i have lots of friends, a great family and my god loves me for me. That's all I need. I pity those people who are filled with that kind of hatred. I pity them greatly. Don't sweat what others think about you. Let them say what they will. Inside you know your a good person thats all that counts.

Its because you're gay. Seriously. People are not open-minded enough in todays society to just accept people as they are, no matter what choices they make. You can be a good guy, you can be a kind man, but once someone finds out you're gay, THAT overshadows anything nice or kind you have ever done/said & its unfortunate that the world is like that. Its like, anything that is not considered "normal" is shunned upon. No one is perfect but there are some folks who just refuse to believe that, u know? I accept you & Im sure you have family & friends that accept you also so devote your attention to them & yourself, dont worry about the ignorant people, ok? Have a good day!

The world is unfortunatley full of small minded people. It is hard to rise above it, I know.
In today's society, there is a lot of media coverage into paedophiles and people tend to think that men above a certain age who are not married with a family of their own, must automatically fall into this category.
It is a difficult situation because people jump to conclusions but there is also the need to highlight the danger of people whoa re not all they seem.
I used to work in a gay bar and found that the older generation of gay men were much nicer company than the brash younger men. (I'm only 25 so this isn't an age thing). I know from talking to older gay men that you had to fight to get the recognition of your sexuality and it must be hard when after all the hard work taht has gone into realing homomsexuality as a way of life, you are still treated so badly.
It is such a shame that society is this way and we should be educating people on the values of having different types of people around us rather than abusing and discriminating folk who are not the same as us.

Unfortunately, even in this day and supposedly enlightened age, there are still a lot of people out there who totally ignorant! These people are living their lives in a state of false consciousness, wandering about thinking they are right when really they have no idea what life is all about. If we all accepted each other for who and what we are, there would be more peace and plenty more friendships!

Don't let these prats get you down, you deserve to be treated better than they know how! Do your best to simply ignore them, I mean why waste your energy on being unhappy? We should leave that to those morons!

Even though we are in the 21st century, many people are very conservative and do not have open minds to view life through other peoples lenses. As you are 50 yrs old, people except you to be life experienced and knowledgable in high standards - the last thing they expect you to be is GAY. Its almost like a loss of trust. You have lost your reputation and will probably never be able to gain it back. People will not look at you in the same light as they did before. To put it bluntly - you have been labelled as being ' a *** and PERVERT'. I say..get yourself back into the closet. Secrecy is sometimes a virtue.

people do not accept you because they are ignorant. I'm not gay but I do not care if you are or not. people are just stupid and closed minded.
I'm a little different, I grew up in Germany ( military) is was common to see two girls kiss at the bus stop as one went to work.
All I can say is you do not have the problem everybody else dose.
My wife had a friend that was gay, we went to see concerts, camping, Actually he was a pretty good person to be around.
Just live your life your way, and let the stupid people live theirs.

Some people just aren't ready. I mean, I'm a 17 year old high-school guy, you'd think I'd be your 'toughest audience', I mean, I'm heterosexual, but I wouldn't ever call you a pervert. Honestly, I know a homosexual and he's a really nice guy, and I'd stick up for him. Not everyone is able to see past sexual orientation, but to some, it's just something about you. To some it's nothing more than your height or weight. We aren't all biased homophobes, so don't think everyone thinks this.

Think about it, those that don't like you are going to be much louder and more vocal than those that don't object. You only speak up if you're mad, not if you're content. It's called a vocal minority, but we're not all like that. I know I'm not. Take care.

I accept you, you're not a pervert. The true perverts and twisted people are those who spread hate and make you feel bad. Some of them have replied to this question - it's kind of obvious who they are.
Most people in the world are fine.

Because some people are dumbas*es. Your most likely one of the nicest guys in the world and people have their noses shoved so far up their *** that they don't know what their missing! Granate I'm only 15, but I have a g/a/y friend and we are really close and I can talk to him about anything! Be happy with who you are and don't let what people say get in the way of your life. Just give them the birdie and walk away!

You aint a pervert because you are gay or 50 . your age and your sexuality doesnt really matter if you carry on living your life by what people think of you then it will rip you apart eventually so in the great words of erik the viking when he hit britain "f#ck em all"
And what ppl are you hoping accept you and maybe they do and maybe they dont if they do then great if they dont then refer to what erik said.
