Right and wrong are two things we as humans have a different out looks on, what may be right for one can sometimes prove wrong for others. Being atheist just means you don't believe in God, but the truth is you may still be a very good person, and also honest and law abiding. Being atheist has nothing to do with ones belief on right or wrong but rather on how we actually got here!

One does not have to believe in a God to know the difference between good and evil or right and wrong. It doesn't matter what a persons beliefs are, as long as they live a good life.

You being an atheist only means that all constructs and explanations of God presented to you are not satisfying. If you are logical person and will accept logical chain of proofs you only need to stay in search longer.
I acknowledge that you can be a good man , know right from wrong, good from evil.
I only would like that you come in contact with people that would satisfy you with answers about God.
I have in my experiece found that most of the things that ateist dont belive, I also do not believe.
But I consider myself roman catholic.
So wait, read, think, logicaly, and do not be anti theist, simply because you do not like the idea that there is God , simply and logicly ask and try to get answers that are sound in itself.

Making the difference between good and evil is not the same with believing.Believing...Some believe in Good that we all now as a general notion, item.He is rather a necessity and for those who believe, even a reality.His existence -probably our need for a well established reference point.When everybody turns their back on you ...Instead when something bad happens,it is said to be God's punishment because of the same need of security.You don't want to believe that no one at all is there with and for you.But i have a question for you too?Don't you ever need to believe in something?In something better than you-the ideal you know you can never reach?Answer yourself this question!

What concerns me about an atheist is they don't know the truth. Whether you believe or don't believe in "gods or demons" is irrelevant. However, if you don't believe in the one God, and His Son, Jesus Christ, that does concern me.

I know some atheists, they know what right and wrong is, good and evil...their version. How can they fully know good or evil if they don't believe in God? How can they fully know what is right and wrong if they don't know God.

I ask you this, why are you an atheist?

You have to ask yourself, why do I know the difference between right and wrong? What causes you to do right? Outside of laws that penalize you for doing wrong. Why be good? The answer is that it is instilled in you, and that should make you think. Why be a moral person? The battle of good and evil is within you and that doesnt come from a mass of protoplasm and cells. Then where? You just got your answer.

I’m not sure I’m Christian in the way you think... so maybe I shouldn't be answering your question... but anyway here's my answer:

For me an atheist is a person who had the chance of thinking about existence and religion;
Something that most believers never bothered or had the chance to do.

I emphasize the word “chance” for the following reasons:
Any smart creature, given the chance, or circumstances, or time to “think” about this subject, would most likely experience this “atheist” status.
But most people are busy analyzing/doing other stuff;
Also religion is so famous about being complete in most societies, that even considering analyzing/criticizing it seems in vain.
So an atheist can be considered as a lucky person with some brains.

Which also gives credit to the following proposition: a “believer” can be a super smart and active society member, while an “atheist” can be as stupid as a rock, who only can repeat “God doesn’t exist” sentence...

By “Think” I mean, using the logical rules as wide and deep as possible regarding an issue, while being the least affected by pre-defined rules.

So an atheist can be as I said “a person who had the chance of thinking about existence and religion”, or also, just a follower, just following some fashion: “Atheists are COOL, so I am atheist”.

Of course I’m going to talk about the first group.

One main characteristic of being atheist, is considering that god doesn’t exist.
Doing this simply considers billions of people (believers) through time, as being totally wrong in their beliefs...
Considering this, besides its being arrogant, has a big chance of being inaccurate.

Could all those people through time be totally wrong? Could all those wise men, in the religion books, be hallucinating?
I think they must have had motives... let’s fetch the motives... the purposes... see if we agree with them;
The means (religion, god...) that are used, are they substitutable, maybe they need to be interpreted/addressed in different ways...
Are they real, are they symbols? ...

Questions that need considering... We can’t bypass all that and just be atheist.

So just being an atheist, for me, is being arrogant.
It’s being a person who reached a certain depth in thinking and didn’t continue...
Maybe for feeling strong, satisfied with the dose of rebellion he/she achieved... maybe for being incompetent with a weak mind for deeper thinking.

Atheism would better be only a “Phase” in a person’s life...

And of course, being “Atheist” has nothing to do in recognizing right from wrong;
In the opposite, it may give the ability of having clearer views, irrelevant from possible religious prejudgments/misunderstandings.

No! of course not. Christians know and believe that all humans on Earth no matter what they believe, were created by God.

Christian's would say that you are lost, and need to be saved. You may even have a tighter grasp on what is right and wrong then some Christians and they would honestly recognize this. But you still need to be saved.

My dog was not Christian but he knew right from wrong.

No, the odds are that you do know the difference beteween good and evil, right and wrong.

However your knowledge does not arise as a rational logical consequence of Atheism

(but rather in part, because you were created by the Christian God with a conscience).

See below...

Moral Values and Accountability as Evidence for God : The Indispensability of Theological Meta-Ethical Foundations for Morality: Theism and naturalism are contrasted with respect to furnishing an adequate foundation for the moral life. It is shown that on a theistic worldview an adequate foundation exists for the affirmation of objective moral values, moral duties, and moral accountability. By contrast, naturalism fails in all three respects. Insofar as we believe that moral values and duties do exist, we therefore have good grounds for believing that God exists. Moreover, a practical argument for believing in God is offered on the basis of moral accountability.

Not believing in God doesn't make you a bad person or a good person. Only YOU can do that.

The only draw-back to being an Atheist is that if the Christian God DOES exist, you are going to hell, because in the Bible, it says that the only UNFORGIVEABLE sin is to Deny God.

So, it's a gamble...do you believe the scientists, or do you believe in God? Again, only you can decide.
