Ask the hair dresser to thinnen it out with a thinning comb, when you straighten your hair also try to do it in very thin layers. There are also ways of making your look fabulous with think hair as I had really think hair once and bugged to a beaut, so I tried loads of different hair styles like crunching with mouse and hair spray, curling it with curly tongs will make your hair look gorgeous, wearing it half up and half down, or maybe you could try putting it in low-bunches (not high). Just experiment. You can conditioners which tame your hair as well.

I used to have very thick hair too, but luckily only on my head! Is your hair frizzy? There are many products available on the market to defrizz it. Using conditioner flattens it a little. I would agree that you should go to the hairdresser to ask for advice. A hairdresser once told me that it is a pleasure working on thick hair, as they love cutting it! If it's long they have a method of wrapping it around your head to flatten and straighten it, which you could also do at home.

Flat Irons kill your hair and make it thicker (with fly aways and really dry hair) the day after you iron it.
But to make your hair thinner, you should go to a salon and ask a pro, or maybe you could look on african american forumns on how they get their super curly hair striaght. (I have naturally CURLY hair but I straighten it without heat)
Try Bantu knots at sleep. Try curlers at sleep. Do you sleep without your hair in anythink protective?
There are so many factors to having curly hair, but just look online...

I have really thick hair n wavy its a nightmare aint. the only way to make your hair look really thin is to have layers put in. When i first had it done my hair felt like a new head of hair and it was really soft, i definatley recommend layering your hair. But thinning also works but it still goes back to feeling thick in a few weeks . Hope this helpd

I have the same problem! I straighten my hair every single day and it stays straight for about 1 hour and then..BANG its back to frizzy thick hair again (slight exaduration!) I have layers and it does really seem to help because after all there will be less hair! :D lol

Get to love your hair for what it is and i would guess the straighteners will not be helping you might go to boots and ask at the counter if there is a good shampoo or anything you can do .
hope this helps.

I think you're lucky! I have (clever) thinish hair and I'd love it to be a little thicker. You can get it thinned out when you go for your next haircut, otherwise just find ways of fixed it that make you look great with your abundace of curls!
