I've always wondered about this, not out of bitterness but more out of curiosity. Family and friends say they can't understand why I don't have a girlfriend. They seem to think I deserve it. They seem to think I'm goodlooking and successful (they didn't factor in that I'm Asian) but then every woman I encounter has not given me a chance (here's a fact: i've tried speed dating three times; i didn't get one date.) It's not that I haven't tried. Thanks to my gym routine, I look good. I also excel at my work. I'm also very friendly and sociable and somehow cool. I know it sounds like I'm actually worried about not getting a girlfriend, but I'm way past that; I'm numb. I just hate the pressure imposed on me almost everyday. Are my family and friends just biased because they know me? If so, how can I convince them that I'm really not that good a catch without sounding like a loser?

Maybe you need to sign up for a class to find people with similar interests eg: photography, art, golf...it can be anything that you have an interest, right away, anyone else in the class/course will have something in common with you.

Speed dating is tough, and very superficial. I think you should look outside of that. Those that keep telling you you are a great catch, may be a bit biased, however, they know you best...so ask them to set you up with someone they know...who may be a good match.

Go to the library, or check out if there are singles dances, or other functions you can attend.

Go to the museum....and strike up conversation. Or even at your gym, ask someone there, if they would like to grab coffee after the work out.

good luck. it is tough, check at work...to your co-workers have any friend/family they know may be a good match?
Get the word out...and don't worry...things happen for a reason...and maybe the right one, just hasn't come along yet.

Yea... I would not date an Asian man... no offense. I do not date outside my race.

you need to find Asian women or women willing to date an Asian man. I think you are looking for women in the wrong places. I am sure you have much to offer.
