Here is a video that will answer your question. However, I don't think a lot of dogs would allow this!!

I've never personally seen a cat groom a dog but my (former) dog used to groom my cat (ears only). Grooming others (allogrooming) is a behavior cats engage in more often with others they are close to. Check out the reference. So if your kitty is grooming you or your dog, that probably means the cat considers you (and the dog) "family".

I had a friend who's cat groomed a puppy for it's 1st year. After the first year he start grooming back, and it all pretty much stopped. They do still sleep together at night.

My cat would groom my St Bernard when he was a puppy and as he got older he would go looking for the cat when he thought it was bath time. Very different but that's what he was used too so it became a behavior.

like ironcityveteran stated cats will groom just about anything...at our house when we are groomed we call it getting kisses..and yes I have seen cats grooming dogs...my tabby use to groom the rabbit we had...I was very leary when it would go to the bird & hamster cages though, wouldn't take the chance that grooming would lead to other things...lol

I never seen my cat groom my dog, but I have seen my cat groom my raccoon. Isn't it the cutest thing in the world.

Cats will groom just about anything that will sit still long enough.

My cat eats fruit. All kinds of it. He LOVES tomatoes so we have tomato plants in the backyard. No sorry my sheltie doesn't groom my kitties. My cat had a boy who is bigger than her now and they groom each other.
