It depends on the flavor you are looking for, grilling produces a smokey flavor where doing it on the stovetop makes it sweet and crunchy

Try an open pit BBQ, leave the husks on and roast slowing, turning every few minutes or so. Watch for over-cooking, and then open the husks and dunk ear of corn in butter pot (use the pulled back husks as a handle so your hand doesn't get burned by the butter pot. Think you had died an gone to heaven, its that great ! Try it some time.

I do my corn on the cob on the stovetop..but I don't peel it at all.l put the corn in there (still in the husk) and boil it the normal time.

When you take it out, the silk on the corn will peel right off..You'll, obviously, let it sit for a moment because those husks get really hot..try it, you'll see how easy it is.

I prefer grilling (although I've never actually done the stove-top method). Although for a quick method, my mom always husked it and then wrapped the cob in saran wrap and popped in the micorwave for around 10 minutes.

Stove top is easiest. Boil some water, cook corn on full boil for 10 minutes. Let stand for five, strain it, butter it and eat it.

stovetop but i suggest the sweet corn on the cob. That way you don't need the milk n' sugar.OH! and shuck it, then boil 'cause when you soak it in water with the leaves on, the flavor of the corn soaks into the leaves and so when you shuck it, you lose the flavor.

Grilling is good - soak the corn in water first, then watch it carefully so it doesn't burn. On the stovetop, put it in cold water and cook just until the water boils.

i like both, but grilling sometimes hardens the kernels too much and takes much longer. with stove top, i actually taste the sweetness and tenderness of the kernels. when i have time, i try to season the butter and vary the seasoning. lime butter, basil butter,
