I would definitely use a liqid down the back formula. The flea and tick collars are awful and rarely work. With the collar your poor cat is protected around his head and neck but the rest of him or her is a feeding ground for these critters. Also the collars can lead to skin infections and inflammations in the neck area from so much product over saturating the same area of the cats body.

I had three very LARGE dogs, 4 cats and three ferrets. They all had fleas. I got the advantix from the vet and they were gone. It may be more expensive but it the long run it will say you money. If you get the cheapy stuff in the pet stores (bio spot) it doesn't last long and you will have to re apply it and end up spending just as much.

Farnam Bio-Spot or Zodiac spot-on, both available at Petco. 3-4 month supply between $10-$15. Works great and cheaper than Frontline!

Advantage or Frontline, i've tried Zodiac but it only killed half the fleas on my cat. Both Advantage and Frontline cost more but their worth it.

We use Frontline on our cat and she has never had any problems with fleas or ticks whatsoever.

The best is Advantix. I use it on my cats and it works. Try it and see the improvement. And save more money by buying it at petmeds.com or 1800petmeds! ;-)

Frontline!!
Over the counter meds (like from petsmart or other petstores) can cause serious health problems and/or death.
