I am trying to convince my mom to let me dye my hair black. I have dyed it just about every other color in the rainbow. I just need to know whether or not it will wash out over time.

Permanent black hair dye will not wash out, especially if your hair has already been chemically treated. I imagine that a temporary dye may wash out eventually, but when it washes out your hair probably won't go back to exactly the shade that it was before.

I used permanent black hair dye for many years and when I finally decided to go back to my natural color, I could not get the dye out with "dye removal" or "hair restoration" products available at retail beauty stores. I ended up going to a salon and paying to get it done professionally. Keep in mind that you may have to do this too if you use permanent black hair dye.

Edit: You cannot "always dye your hair another color" when you get tired of the black, simply by going to the store and getting a box of hair dye. Trust me on this one :)

Depends on what color your hair is now and what kind of dye you use. If you want it to wash out, use a rinse. It's a temporary color that comes out after one wash.

I had to dye my hair black. All the time I wash my hair; I see it bleeds into the water but my hair is still black.

i don t think that it washes out over the time but what i am sure of it is that it gets lighter and when your hair gets longer the new hair will be your natural hair colour
