I am a nursery director and need guildlines to go by for caring for three different nurseries in our church. Infants, toddlers meaning walkers to age 2 and then another class of 3-5yr old children.

You have to check with your state's guidlines regarding adult to child ratio.

I am a state licensed child care provider and the state guidelines are: no more than 6 children per adult, only 2 of the children can be under age 2. So, your infants group will need 1 adult per 2 children as will your toddler group. The 3-5 year olds will need 1 adult per 6 children. Also, if it were me, I would have a "floater" person to go between the 3 rooms and help out like take little ones to potty, get snacks, etc.

As I'm open for all English questions I don't know where you are but here in England we have legislation called "The Children's Act" and an organisation called "Ofsted" that all education bodies, childminders and nurseries have to be registered with. According to that the ratio of adults to children is;
aged under 1 2 children per adult
aged under 3 4 children per adult
aged under 5 5 children per adult
aged over 5 6 children per adult.
you also have to take into account the size of the room available and the amount of space each child needs. the younger the child the more space they need.

You need to check in with the state guidelines on that. It differs though the states. I know you have to have so many adults to children.

Depends on how many kids are in each class. I always go with 2 kids to one adult.
