Atheists :)
I was brought up and influenced by an Atheist dad...
I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
For scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm
Cordially,
John

First of all, the plural of sheep is sheep. Second, both Christians and Atheists have the capacity for being lead by others if they have a weak sense of self.
I was raised in a family that didn't openly practice any one religion because they wanted everyone to be able to make that decision themselves rather than push their beliefs onto each other. We were encouraged to learn what we could from different religions and grow from our findings. My family is primarily Christian. I am, however, an atheist.

I think if you're human and care about what others will think of you then you will follow the masses. However athiests and agnostics question more than those who belong to a religious institution so they are in the minority as far as what the masses follow religiously.
I am not saying that having faith is wrong but having BLIND faith is unskillful. If you have faith and it nourishes you spiritually and is genuinely uplifting to you then it's a wonderful thing. However there are those who question the institutions behind religion and those in power who have used religion to gain more power These individuals have made the choice to not follow what these religions say. I feel that this the first step to seeking truth and it can be a troubling and terrifying experience at first for some.
I started questioning my religion. I decided it was'nt for me. However I did'nt stop there I sought my OWN TRUTH. Now i don't consider myself an athiest because I believe any absolute labels made by the human mind can effectively limit an individuals growth spiritually. I prefer to call myself a truth seeker. I continually seek the truth and slowly it has begun to set me free.

Those who don't stand for the truth will fall for anything.
Atheists are more likely to swallow the lie.
People "raised in Christian homes" who become atheists simply are not Christ's sheep.
Vast numbers of people raised in non-Christian homes hear Christ's voice and follow him. Sometimes in the thousands at a time.

Judging by what I see on Yahoo Answers, very few atheists actually think for themselves. Their questions are all pretty much the same, over and over again.
Jesus is an original thinker. So are most of His followers.

Christianity cannot be proven. It is not an exact science. It is a matter of faith. Atheists are people who were exposed to Christianity without being taught about faith. It is that simple.

Atheists are clever people(in general) and with a little research you will see that many philosophers in history were atheists,so they are definitely not sheeps.

i grew up in a non-religious family, and became a Christian.
not because i was herded that way, no one really cared, except for the Christians, who did not seek me out.
i have studied science and evolutionary science to such a point that i have to "poo-poo" those who expouse evolution as the only way.
but because i DO believe in micro-evolution (its there for any trained or untrained eye to see) i am shunned by many in the Christian social gatherings. even though i do not believe that we share a common ancestor with apes.
