Grassfed buffalo is the best meat product and would help the economy of the American Indian people if we could produce a market that would provide jobs, utilize the grasslands and generate healthly food.

I would love to have Buffalo steaks. I watched an episode of Take Home Chef and he prepared some for this family. It looked so amazingly juicy. I have never seen it in the stores. I am going to the Fresh Market this weekend to see if they sell it.
Answer to your question: Yes! I would buy it. I am so darn tired of chicken. All I eat is steak and seafood.

Grassland buffalo is great meat, and is available in meat markets and speciality shops already. But there isn't an unlimited supply of buffalo, only what can be safely culled from the protected herds. The major problem with buffalo is that they are susceptible to anthrax, unless they can be raised like cattle and innoculated. But with no chemicals, it would be almost impossible to protect them, and once anthrax gets in a herd it wipes it out.

No! The last time I saw buffalo meat is was outrageously high in price. Now why do Indians need help? You hear of them living on welfare, on drugs, disease infested. Why? They pay no taxes. They sit around watching TV all day because they want to. I believe in helping those that will help themselves. I don't care what nationality they are if they raise the buffalo and sell it like the rest of us, then I would consider.

I agree on the price of buffalo...it is toooooo high! I would buy buffalo exclusively if the price was comparable to beef whether it helped "American Indians" or not. We need affordable food, we do not need another Charity group with their hand out.

Being native American myself I must say Definitely, but at the same time I would say no,because the buffalo is a great spirit.I only eat it when it can no longer stay here with us.My community shares all together.I must say this is a very debatable subject.

As with anything..if I want something..and there's a choice of two items, whatever they are, and the quality and expense is about the same (within reason of course) and one is going to help a person, a group..whatever....sure. Why not? As long as it's not a group or organization that rubs me the wrong way. ( I won't be buying "Neccos for Nazis" or "Bagels for Bangers" anytime real soon)

Yes. I've had buffalo burgers at the CNE in Toronto, and it's great. Very lean but tasty. Alas it's the only place I've seen in southern Ontario sell it.

I would...Buffalo is nothing but cows with a big furry head. I heard it was leaner. If you just cook it up along with regular beef no one would know the difference.

I'm not sure how it would help American Indians, but helpful or not, it's delicious and lean and juicy. Our Stop & Shop carries it, and it makes incredible burgers!
