Not a snowball's chance in hell would they "go home and live peacefully."
If we were to pull out of Iraq right now, that nation would soon be ablaze in a civil war. The Fundamentalists, because of all their foreign fighters, would eventually turn Iraq into a haven for terrorists.
If you think the free world is under attack by terrorists now ... you ain't seen nothing yet, my friend!
The Fundamentalist Muslims have made no secret that they hate democracy and freedom. They want Sharia Law in Iraq and everywhere they live ... and they're willing to kill indiscriminately in order to achieve their version of "what is right".
You need to just pray we succeed in Iraq, my friend, because the alternative is horrible.

Anyone who immediately assumes that an American departure will mean peace for Iraq obviously has not been watching the news. The new Government which is still not fully ready would most likely be overthrown and replaced by any of the following: a return to Sunni-dominated tyranny, a Shia supported theocracy...or even a Somalia-style civil war where chaos rules. The terrorists will not go home...those who are of Al-Qaida will rejoice and start teaching their new initiates on how to weaken and kill (because their objectives are not limited to destroying the USA in Iraq but to establish an evil Islamic empire that spans from Europe to China), while those who really were nationalistic would fight amongst themselves for power in whatever new order exists in Iraq. I am not saying that the USA should stay forever...there are signs that eventually the Iraqis will get their nation together and go down a more sane and peaceful path...I am just saying that the USA should leave in a way that would deny the terrorists victory (in other words help the Iraqis strengthen their nation).

The terrorists would see this as a sign of weakness. They would be increasingly aggressive to the USA and other countries. What in the word terrorist is peaceful? If you read the news and study the Koran you will see that if you are not a Muslim you are a pagan and worthy of death. That is the reason Israel is so hated, they blame them for Christanity. They forget the Jewish people are the ones that wanted Jesus crucified. Ironic isn't it?

They would have a heyday. They would consider themselves victorious over the America and celebrate by blowing up more people, more homes, and committing even more violent acts of terror. Then they would get cocky and think that they are SO strong that they can attack America on the home front, so you would see 9/11-type attacks against Americans in America again and we would be forced to take the war back to them.
The only way to defeat the terrorists is to find them in their own countries, hunt them down, and destroy them like the animals they really are.

They would implant themselves in the government, take the new constitution and burn it, take the calendar back about 500 years, and kill anyone who don't believe as they do. Then they would spread their poison to the whole of the middle east for starters. Their ultimate goal is to spread throughout the globe. That is why the fighting is so tough in Iraq, that is the strong hold they need.

Don't be naive. No terrorists I know of live peacefully at home. If we arent' fighting them in Baghdad, then we'll have to fight them here in the states.

Doubt it they would just find another reason to hate us. Example The Americans serve bacon?They eat the pigs they must die. now the guy above me just pissed me off (Inframan y) Who are you or any of your ilk think that they have a right to judge us you have be killing each other for DECADES! Tells how smart you are. Did you ever think that maybe if you just sat down with people and just shared your point of view without killing innocent people. Then maybe your beliefs would be respected more. God I hate Crazy. I also hate people who try to bring on the end of the world for nothing but to know the fact people fear them

Most of the people fighting the army now are people that want the U.S. to get out of their country, which I assume you would want to also if a nation occupied the U.S. Should the Iraqi's be grateful to us? Why? We installed Hussein (with the added help of the British) and Hussein went on to kill his own people. We gave him the weapons to do it and we retained diplomatic ties with him after he did it and we knew about it. (Go Reagan and Bush I !!!) So now, we "freed" the Iraqi's and have proceeded to kill about 75,000 of them, oops, I mean freed 75,000 of them. It's a lie to say that the people fighting are terrorists (a small, small percentage are Al Qaeda) but it works because complicated topics, situations and solutions hurt the minds of sheltered simple fools.

Theyre not terrorists..theyre the people OF Iraq fighting against one another for control.
I feel there would be a Civil War until one faction won..and that would be that!!

Well after they got done laughing they would do a propaganda thing and have everyone laughing at the united states for being so weak. Than they would plan more attacks on the states. No other country would ever take us serious again.
