Rev. 22:18: For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.

Many Christian groups take this to mean that God's message to mankind is complete, and there is no longer a need for direct communication the way that it happened in the OT. The bible is now a complete text, and individual side-messages no longer occur.

Whether God originally talked to people at all is not provable; you'll have to decide for yourself whether you believe the bible, believe the other Hebrew scriptures that were left out of the Christian bible, and/or believe other texts that were never considered scriptures at all.

All religion is man made it all makes the same claim that it comes from God. This claim is partially true but people can never stand to leave Gods word alone. This is because god’s word is consistent and does not mesh well with their personal preconceptions and bigoted ideas. So they make little changes here and there injecting their thoughts into the mix tainting the word with nonsense. For this reason you should not put much faith in these ideas about god that come from others. If God wants to tell you something He is perfectly capable of telling you directly.

Maybe you should stop reading what other people say about God and ask him to tell you what he wants you to do directly. Stop reading; clear you mind and listen. When you pray get you’re talking over as soon as possible and listen. He is trying to talk to you but your mind is full of nonsense from the bible and other sources. Don’t be surprised if what you hear does not sound much like what you have been told about God. You will be hearing Gods message minus the nonsense.

In your bible study have you ever heard of the small still voice? You can't hear it if your mind is otherwise occupied with other people’s silly ideas about God. Just try it you will be surprised

Yes, I think that He did talk to people. I also believe that He is not done with us. He's not done with what He wanted to accomplish among mankind, so why should He stop speaking to us?

I believe He still speaks to the world- through prophets. Yes, there are still prophets today, like Moses, Noah- they just don't wear the long robes as was the style then...

I know for a fact that He also still speaks to individuals. I think that every time someone is "saved", what they are actually feeling is the Holy Spirit "speak" the word of God to them, verifying to them that Jesus is in actuallity their Savior, etc.

I know that there have been times that I have had major decisions to make in my life, and I wanted to know what He wanted for me. I've asked and He's answered, via the Holy Ghost. Sometimes it's been just a hunch, sometimes it's been a physical sensation, sometimes, it's been actual words in my mind.

he still does.....There was a switch in the covenant. According to the Old Testament, only priests could approach God in his temple. SO if he wanted to talk to us, he would either have to come to us, or use a priest. When Christ was crucified, the curtain into the holy of holies (where teh priests were only allowed) tore in two. Now everyone can approach God throgh the Holy Spirit. It is up to you to listen though. Prayer is not just speaking, it is listening as well.

God talks to people all the time (even today), but not usually with a voice like people. He can talk to our brains, souls, spirit.

He talked to people all the time. I can site more then a hundred times in the bible that he came to talk to someone, or showed himself to someone.

I believe he does still talk to people. Not in the same ways, he uses the Holy Spirit now, only appeared to a few people since Christs death and Resurrection.

In my religion, They- both God and Christ- appeared to a prophet to have Christs church re-established on the earth. He talks to prophets now days and they get revelation, just like in biblical times. He isn't silent and he is running His church on earth.

He still talks to people, and all we have to do is listen. I believe prayer is the best way to get inspiration and enlightenment from God and Christ. "In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."-Proverbs 3:6.

I think it's hard in the world today to listen to the Spirit. You have everyone yelling different beliefs and different thoughts at you, and it's hard to listen to a still, small voice through all the noise.

I do believe in revelation, enlightenment, whatever you want to call it. I believe that God talks to people now and that He will continue to talk to people through the mouths of His prophets and teachers. Whether we want to listen or not is another story.

yeah, he did actually talk to people. He still does it now, but to very few. he doesn't talk out loud... the Holy Spirit gives you hints or feelings about what you ar epraying for. The problem is we aen't listening enough... if we slowed down, we would hear Him.

Yes, but do you have a religion or a relationship with God. If you have that relationship then you will hear Him. He speaks to your heart in a way that you only know.

God only directly sends messages to the prophets. And there are no more prophets. He started from Adam and ended with Mohammad. (Peace be upon them all. For they didn't fail us we failed them.)

God still listens to our prayers and He fullfills what He wants to be fullfilled. But he will not send the Angel Gabriel to us for we aren't prophets.
