The problem with dollar tree pregnancy tests is that they are very very bad about 'evaporation lines'. (Lines that are false-positive after 10 minutes). See: http://www.peeonastick.com/hptfaq.html#7
The actual positive lines are VERY faint, so you might be pregnant. -It's hard to tell. Here's photos of some;
http://www.peeonastick.com/hpt/dollartree.html
I'm having the same problem you are. They seem to be crappy tests. I cannot tell what's positive and negative with these tests. I am just going to buy a better brand. I suggest you do the same.
I've seen some test advertised online for $0.65 that test as low as 8 hcg/ml. I was considering that...though they might not be much better than the dollar tree test. =/
About disappearing lines: (Quoted)
13. The line disappeared after the time limit! Is it still positive? Please see Current Issues & Alerts for information on this ongoing problem with Answer Early and First Response Early Result tests.
A positive result will generally stay positive for 48 hours. Some very faint lines may fade and become difficult to see, however. Note: sometimes a line will appear briefly as the dye in the test passes over the area where a positive result would show. This is not a positive result.
My suggestion: as soon as urine is applied to your test, set a stopwatch for 9 minutes, 45 seconds. Place the test on a flat, dry surface and walk away. When the alarm goes off, read the test from the same distance you would read a book-- allow 15 seconds to examine the test. If there is a pink line (or blue, obviously, if your test uses blue dye), you are pregnant. If there is no line at the 10-minute mark, you are not pregnant or you are testing too early and there is not enough hCG to be detected in your pee. Note: women who have experienced the current "disappearing positive" phenomenon often had a positive result at the 10-minute mark, only to have the line disappear minutes or hours after that. The vast majority of these women have not been pregnant.
If you really get what looks like a true positive, and it disappears, I suggest calling the manufacturer and asking for their input. They may compensate you for the test as well.
Btw, peeonastick.com is the best hpt site available! Good Luck!

I have used a pregnancy test from the dollar store before and I had no problem with it. The person that said you get what you pay for was stuppid. I love the dollar stores. Anyway I would go to the health department where you live and get another test done. I dont know about where you live but here its free. They just aks you some questions like an place else you go. You should buy another one and take it first thing in the morning when you get up. Youre urine usualy has more of the hormones in it then. If you get a second line then youre probably pregnant.

I read on some doctor website forum that the urine tests at the doctor's office have the same sensitivity as the dollar store pregnancy tests which is actually less than First Response Early Result which is supposed to be the most reliable ones on the market. I hope that helps some of your confusion! I'm in the same boat but I can't afford to shell out $100 for blood test around here b/c no insurance...waiting is SO HORRIBLY FRUSTRATING. But, good luck!!! With all those +++, I'm sure you must be.

When you can't get pregnant, and things look good from the outside, it can be extremely frustrating. You can find the solution here http://get-pregnant.keysolve.net
The first thing to consider is how long have you been trying. About 80% of couples will get pregnant after 3 months of trying, and about 90% will be pregnant after 6 months of trying to get pregnant. (And that's with well-timed intercourse each and every month.)
If you haven't been trying for at least 3 months, or you haven't been timing sex for ovulation, then you should keep on trying.
If you have been trying for 3 to 6 months, and you're still not pregnant, something may be wrong. Having regular menstrual cycles doesn't mean you're in the clear. There are many possible reasons for infertility. The best solution is to follow some online method as "Pregnncy Miracle" that will probably solve your problems http://get-pregnant.keysolve.net

My suggestion is that you get a mote accurate test or see a doctor. Lord knows how long that test have been sitting there but then again it only cost a dollar. Another thing when you want to find out something important like fining out if your pregnant there should be a limit on the cost for the test.
Good Luck

I didn't know that the dollar tree sales pregnancy tests. Thanks for telling me because tests are pretty pricy.
I would go see a doctor because you can get a false negative, but raily does a person get a false positive.
Best of luck to you and I wish all the best that you are pregnant!

You should go to the doctor just to be certain. Sometimes you will receive a false positive/negative if you are pregnant in your tubes and this could be very bad. And sometimes the cheap pregnancy tests don't work that well.

chances are if there was a 2nd line even a faint one then you prob are. I would go to wal mart or a drug store and get an ept test of fact plus to take and if you still can't get an accurate reading then I would go to the health department.

To be on the safe side you could either go to the clinic and get a free pregnancy test or you can wait another day or two and get another one to see what it says then.
