Depends on what the material is since grams is a measure of weight and cups and tablespoons are measurements of volume. 250 grams of feathers would be about enough to fill a pillow. If you are asking for cooking measures then 250 grams of water would be about 1 1/4 cup, 250 grams of flour would be about 1 1/3 cups. 125 grams of water would be about 5 tablespoons of water.

The way to convert between the two is by density - how much a certain volume weighs. So, for item X, it might weigh 100 grams per tablespoon, whereas item Y weighs 50. Think about a cup of Styrofoam (very light) and a cup of iron (very heavy). Unfortunately, there isn't a simple answer to either question. Were you thinking of specific substances? That might make it easier...

OK.... what are you looking for here? An imperial equivalent? How to make a Buttermilk substitute? 250 ml is a cup so 125 ml is half a cup so 375 ml equals a cup and a half. To make a substitute for buttermilk. Put 1 tablespoon (15 mls) of vinegar into your one cup measuring cup and then fill the rest of the cup with milk. For the other 1/2 cup then put 1 and one half teaspoons of vinegar into the bottom of your half cup measuring cup and fill the rest of that 1/2 cup with milk.

As a gram is a unit of mass and a cup is a unit of volume, it would depend on which substance you are measuring. Ditto for your second question.
