My dogs are plagued by ticks. Advantage kills fleas but Advantix does NOT kill ticks.

I wrote the company (Bayer) who said it only kills American ticks and Australian ticks, not Belize ticks.

Can you imagine anything so ridiculous?? Boycott Bayer.

You're going to need to dip your dogs with something like "Paramite" Dip, which can be purchased at from a pet supply store or a veterinary clinic. You'll also need to spray your yard with an insecticide, make sure you spray your trees also...3 feet on down. If you don't hurry and get these ticks off of your dog, they'll continue to breed, and eventually could be carried into the house, and get attached on humans too. Also, too many ticks on a dog could cause the dog to have a reaction to all the ticks.....caused "tick paralysis". So you're going to have to get aggressive with the tick problem in your yard and on your dog. Best of luck to you.............

We have outside dogs and they get covered in ticks easily but we picked the ticks off and burned them and we have seen more but we do the same over and over. If that don't work try Frontline and they won't get ticks. My grandmother uses it and her dogs have not had ticks or fleas but maybe once when she did not have Frontline.

Wow. That's weird. Well actually, no. It's not. The company probably only made it 4 American and Australian ticks 'cause maybe is the company in one of those? Use front line 'cause my aunt uses front line for her dogs ant they NEVER get ticks.

If your dogs are getting ticks, spray around the house. If you're taking them out in the wild country, don't expect the stuff to work miracles. That's like expecting mosquito spray to keep you from getting any bites while camping out in rice country. I've had better luck with K-9 than Frontline on fleas with my dogs.
