1) And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen. "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Matthew 21:21-22 NAS)
2) Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8 NAB)
3) Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. (Matthew 18:19-20 NAS)
4) Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes

4) Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours. (Mark 11:24-25 NAB)
5) And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Luke 11:9-13 NAB)
6) And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14 NAB)
7) If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you. (John 15:7 NAB)

8) It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that
A lot of Christians ignore what Jesus actually says in the Bible. They also tend to add things to the actual words to make them say something else. If you honestly and truthfully read these quotes, without adding to them, it is very easy to see that Jesus is not saying that God will think about your prayers. He says God will grant all your prayers. Clearly, God doesn’t grant all prayers and this proves that Jesus was a habitual liar

well, you have certainly copped some abuse there.
What your talking about is the NT, and I think it should be read as like poetry, (bad word I know) some stuff is crazy,; like no-one is gonna move a mountain, thats totally nuts. Your no.1 there is a parable about "belief". And it was written down between 34 and 150 AD I think........................... Thats what i think anyway. cheers.

It is interesting that you grabbed onto those verses and yet you never grabbed onto an important issue within the Bible. First off for those things to happen - You would have to have FULL faith in God - That is Full Faith in the Lord that has created Everything. Next does it glorify God? If it doesn't and it is to glorify Man then why would God want to do such things? To prove that it can be done? Please.
Through Faith the things of God are done. The Faith Chapter Hebrews 11 shows you what Faith can do for all God's people. Next 2 Corinthians Chapter 13 is the Love Chapter and that gives you another basis of how things are done. If you have no faith or you have no Love then how is it possible that God wants to do anything for you or through you.
Next and a highly important thing. NEVER question God and never Blapheme the Holy Spirit. If that is done, that is the Only Sin that God will never forgive you for and you are good as dead.
When you take things out of the Bible please look at the whole chapter and understand the underlying theme in the chapter it will give you a better perspective.

Jesus said, "There are those who seeing, see not, and those who hearing, hear not". Thanks for proving that to us once again.
In (1) You ignored you the words "do not doubt", and in the last part the word "believing"
In (3) You ignored the words "In my name" or you chose to believe that meant that all that was required was to say "we're here for Jesus". The Bible offers no magic spells.
In (4) You ignored the words "does not doubt in his heart"
I will add to what he said, only, "There are those who reading, read not"
But you have touched on a problem for Christians. We have all been educated with concepts like the Newtonian, "An object at rest tends to remain at rest......" After spending all those years in school, it is incredibly difficult to obey that "do not doubt" part when we want to move a mountain. Even Peter, who enjoyed his very presence, took one step on water, and then began to sink when he began to wonder if he could actually walk on water.
The more unlikely something is in worldly terms, the more difficult it is for us to completely believe it will happen when we pray for it. And Jesus said "Do not doubt". 98% belief and 2% hope don't make it. It has to be 100% Faith.
Another problem we have is not recognizing when our prayers have been answered. So we need rent money, and we pray to win the lotttery. Jesus knows we need the rent money, not the lottery, so three weeks later we get a raise, and the rent gets paid. And what do we say? We say, "I prayed to win the lottery and it didn't happen." We missed the miracle and it doesn't help our Faith.
I can only say, I have sometimes achieved that "no doubt": faith. And whenever I have, I did, indeed, receive. I have also learned to look for miracles which happened in ways I did not anticipate and have found literally hundreds.
Jesu did not lie to me.

I am not sure what you are trying to do, but I am sorry that you are calling Jesus a liar. To me this is dangerous ground to be treading on.
In response to #1. Notice the words AND DO NOT DOUBT, you can do these things. the point is that nNO ONe on the face has the pure faith as small as the mustard seed, for if so they coud do these things
#2 Ask and you shall recieve, this is referring to forgiveness and salvation. Knock and the door to heaven will be opened if you seek forgiveness.
#3. Asking for holy or godly things and for forgivness of course they will be answered. Just because the answer is some times no does nnot mean that God did not answer.
#4 Again I point out If they say this and Do Not Doubt in His Heart this will happen. But no one has had that perfect faith to accomplish these things. All it takes is pure, undoubted faith as small as a mustard seed.
It is unfair to take a text out of context to try and prove Jesus lied about anything. From waht I see you have taken these verses out of context to try and make a point that Jesus lied. I would suggest that you speak to a minister or rabi or priest or someone and get the help you need trying to understand the true meaning of the Bible and the owrds of Jesus Christ.

Apparently, you are thinking that Jesus lied about who He is because you haven't seen a mountain move. But have you asked with the faith necessary to move that mountain? Verse 2 is actually part of the rebuttal to your statement that Jesus lied. If you seek truth, you will find it. I am pleased that you're opening the Word, but I can't tell you how often I've found that people will use any tool in an incorrect manner, or in a way that it was never intended for, i.e. using a screwdriver to open a beer bottle. Verse 3 allows us to ask for whatever we want in His name. Maybe what you've asked for isn't in alignment with His pure, holy and good name. You wouldn't want anyone using your name to commit a crime, so neither would God....He doesn't want us to use His name for anything that wouldn't bring glory to Him and confirm who He is. Use the Word to ask, seek and find Him. Then you'll find that Jesus didn't really lie at all, you just didn't believe enough or in the way you needed to in the first place.

If you read a little before and after these scriptures to see what context this is in. You will see that Jesus is specifically talking about the power of prayer, and Gods providence. Really the only thing we cant accomplish through prayer is going against God's will. This doesnt mean if we pray to save someones life, and they pass away. That they died because we didnt have "enough faith" It could have just been Gods plan. But I have seen people have terminal illness and cancer, and hundreds of people come together in prayer and the persons' illness be instantly cured. This miracle could be equal to "moving a mountain".
I di believe faith can literally move a mountain, but who has that kind of faith. Jesus often addressed his disciples, the very same people who cured the sick and raised the dead in his name, "ye with little faith"

I think they make perfect sense if read in context of the passage. They are not proof he lied, they are proof that he was telling the truth. You are saying that God does not answer prayer, therefore he is a liar? What do people pray for then? Money, fame? I know a person who prayed that someone he hated would die, and it didn't work. Jesus is saying that he will answer prayer, but of course things like "give me more money", or "kill that person" will not be answered because if they were and God really did kill a person in answer to a prayer, he would be disobeying his own ten commandments. Also, god answers prayer according to his own time. You can't force God to do anything you want.

Dear Tutor,
You are mistaken.
1. The bulk of these statments were made by Jesus to his disciples (not to all human beings).
2. Note that Jesus used Semitic Hyperbole to make his points (that was an accepted teaching method in the Semitic cultures of his timeframe). His listeners would recognize that he was using Semitic Hyperbole and that neither he nor they intended (or understood) the statements to be a 100% literal.
Jesus is saying that we should have faith and trust in the Christian God. And that if we pray (while living in obedience to Christ, while trusting him wholeheartedly), God will answer our prayers. This is generally true in the lives of committed Christians. There are individual prayers that God chooses to not grant (because they might destroy our character, or because God permits us to undergo some specific sufering for the development of our character).
Cordially,
John

I MUST SAY THAT JESUS WAS BEING LITERAL AND SPEAKING THE TRUTH. HE WAS SPEAKING TO HIS DECIPLES WHO DID WORK MANY MIRACLES. YOU CANNOT ASK A MOUTAIN TO BE MOVED UNLESS IT IS FOR THE GOOD OF GODS WORD.
Ac 6:8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
Ac 8:6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
Ac 8:7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
Ac 8:8 And there was great joy in that city.
Ac 8:13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
Ac 19:11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:
Ac 19:12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
Heb 2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

Some tutor you are. All this shows is a lack of faith on your part, and a bit of a lack of imagination.
Leave these poor confused people alone to believe what they will.
The real question you should be addressing is what is it about what these people believe that scares you so much that you feel the need to attack it.
Best get your own house in order before you try to fix someone elses.

If you had faith and doubted not, you could move a mountain. But that would not be wise (just think of lots of mountains around the world being moved!! What kind of disasters would that create? How many people would be killed?).
God wants to do good, we do not know all of His plan. We need to be close to Him, so that we can know what He wants us to do (or pray).
