why do you want the dog to raise his leg to pee? one reason to get the dogs neutered is so they don't go around marking their territory by raising their leg and peeing on stuff! so in other words-not raising the leg is a good thing!

OK, he is not a man, he is a dog. He doesn't feel any need to lift his leg.

Some dogs don't ever... This is an act of dominance, the higher they lift their legs, the more dominant they are. If there are no other male dogs around, he may never lift his leg. FOr some dogs, it is just uncomfortable.. larger dogs, or dogs with hip or leg problems may never lift their leg.

My dog is 6 years old, he's never lifted his leg to pee. I think it's just preference, as my other dog would never be seen squatting ;) It's not important HOW they go pee, as long as they are healthy and don't seem in pain/straining when they go.

dogs study a variety of of factors from one yet another. After astonishing out with some male greyhounds, my woman began lifting her leg, yet outdoors in ordinary words. it ought to correctly be dominance, or perhaps it really is one among those doggie issues we will not in any respect understand. It feels like interesting, so why not attempt it - or some thing like that. in spite of everything, it really is not some thing to fret about except it takes position on your position. It feels like both this woman tolerates it, or she hasn't wiped clean up and deodorized effectively after different dogs, and your dogs alternatives up the heady scent and receives the theory that it really is okay. you've gotten some remedial education to do even as your dogs receives homestead.

It's not about "acting like a man" or not.
Some male dogs squat & some will lift their leg...
The ones that lift their leg means that they're more domineering & boisterous type.
The squaters are more gentler...not in a female way, but just more gentler.

You should be lucky that your dog squats...easier to control, I think.

If he was not lifting before he was fixed, he will have to be shown how by another male dog. If he is around another male dog, he will start getting the hang of it. If not, chances are no, he will not lift.

Depending on what kind of dog he is and how large he may never. A lot of smaller male dogs don't. Their legs just aren't long enough
