Parents have to work so they have to have somewhere to take their children. Children also need an education. But I do agree it is rather long and it repeats itself every year. I've always believed it is so the city or government can make money because it cost money to go to school.

I assume you mean summer instead of sunner, but school and summer have the same amount of letters so they are both equal. Hehe, just kidding. Education has become more in depth for students, more than what I was taught when I was in school. Longer preparation leads to better performance, better education, better equipping for the future. Students are smarter these days and life is more complicated. Just apply yourself and you will succeed.

Because it's more important to learn than to play.

It takes a skill of some sort to make it in this world.... so you can pay your bills, keep food in your refrigerator and diapers on your kids one day. Despite what the fairytales say, money doesn't grow on trees. You have to go out and earn it.

Enjoy your short summers. Appreciate them.
When you become an adult, all you'll have (if you're lucky) is two or three weeks vacation a year.

(No more whining allowed, okay?)

It is all in your mind. The funniest of things last of the shortest time. Because you are having fun, time goes by more quickly, as with anything. Try to break up the vacation by weeks. It makes it go by a little slower, at least for me! Enjoy the remainder of your summer!

Summer has to be short and school so long because the stupid kids take longer to understand what normal kids get an hour or so,so they punish all of us.

Because the adults decided long ago that it would be an incredibly funny joke to rob children of their youth as soon as they could talk by putting them through sessions of what they called "learning" while they ran around and danced naked in orchards which they call "going to work"

You apparently need to go to school in the summer to work on your spelling.

Because we need to learn and if summer was longer most of the things we learn in school would diminish and then we would have to relearn the same infromation over and over!!!

Are you kidding?
Why is summer so long?
I'm becoming tired of doing nothing other than work.
Someday, you'll understand.

Considering from how trite kids these days are, I'd say more school is in order as well.
