Scientific Theory and The Bible?

I have seen this mentioned on several questions and I would like to know what scientific evidence disproves The Bible?

I read a few answers and wanted to add, I do not know anything that is scientifically proved. Science deals in theories and they are being constantly modified or updated or disproved. Go back several hundred years and if I told you the world was round you would think I was crazy but that is what the scientific theories supported at that time. How our are modern scientific theories going to look in 100 years, 10 years, 1 year? Probably not very accurate. Just a thought though.

Evidence that the earth is older than 2000 years old.

I'm not going to get into the whole debate over the validity of the Bible (at least I capitalized the word for you folks out there who take such stuff so seriously - but that's all you're going to get from me). Simply put, there have been so many versions of "The Bible", from the Torah (Old Testament) to the Gnostic texts to the book of Moroni (LDS) that the message that's being conveyed is a rather diverse one. Islam has the Koran, Jews the Torah, and on and on...each devoted to "God's word"

So don't go harping to me that it's all one "word". Many, MANY people were involved in the creation of what people call "God's word". I have yet to see an actual copyright by God on any of it, so let's not haggle over semantics. According to Catholic dogma, St. John the Divine wrote the book of Revalation. The gospels are not attributed to God, but rather Matthew, Mark, Luke and John (yet Thomas, Judas and the rest are conveniently forgotten).

Science is man's attempt to understand the physical world which surrounds him. It makes no attempt to deal with salvation, the state of man's eternal soul, or even IF man has an eternal soul. Science, as any committed theorist or practicioner will tell you, is not here to prove or disprove the Bible. Rather, it is a means for understanding that which we see. The Bible, on the other hand, is supposed to be there to help us with our belief. "Seeing is believing" is only a phrase, folks. The two don't always have to coincide.

So let me ask instead, "why is it that religion has such a vehement opposition to mankind asking questions and seeking answers on its own?"

Well...guess a big one would be.....Science has the Earth at some couple of billion years old; the bible says we are only about 6,000 or so. Science says life on Earth slowly came into being over millions of years; the bible says it happend in six days.

Fossils. Real proof of actual things that were actually there however long ago, but in the bible where is the proof of Jesus or Moses or any of them? Where was the garden of eden located? If it were really there don't you think some crazy christian geologists would have gone looking for it and found adam and eve's skeletons and fossilized trees? Seriously, the bible is a bunch of crap.

mostly religion that includes catholics are ment to be a social control. Religion confort us in the way that whatever man (trou science) cant explain is bcz its divine and theres nothing we can do, but the truth is that even religion looks for a rational explanation for our existence and I think that if there is a god, and is superior in all ways he must have a higher state of mind.

carbon dating can be wrong and maybe the Earth's materials are older than 2000 years, but that doesnt prove that the bible is wrong

i believe most people dont know what the bible means or says. i dont think science disproves the bible.

there is NO scientific proof that the BIBLE is not true,science PROVES the BIBLE is true & that GOD does exist & that "in the beginning GOD created the heavens & the earth"!!!!!
