get a spray bottle and add several drops of citronella and eucalyptus oil to water. its a safe and humane cat-repellant. they hate the smell, it makes them run for the hills, but at the same time it won't hurt them.

You should probably determine if it's a stray or if it belongs to someone. You can either go around to your neighbors and ask or post a flier up at local stores, town hall, etc.

If no one claims it, please call around for animal control and/or shelter options. Local vets might have a list of resources if you don't know where to start looking. Once you find a place that can take the cat, see if you can borrow a "have a heart" trap, trap it, and bring it to the shelter.

If you want to try to adopt and rehab this cat yourself, there are a number of things you can try. Trapping it and bringing it to the vet is a good idea to start off. When you return it to your home, keep it isolated from your other cat and make sure it has its own box and food. Slowly re-introduce it to your home and cat over some time, putting it back in it's designated own area when/if it acts up. Even when it's out and about in your home, keep two or more litter boxes. The peeing and pooping everywhere is probably a dominance issue that might resolve if it feels more comfortable, has it's own place, and doesn't have to compete for litter box/food. If the cat is rehab-able but you don't want to keep it, you can consider trying to rehabilitate it and foster it while placing ads for a cat for adoption. Get in touch with local animal rescue organizations or your vet for suggestions about where to advertise a cat for adoption.

for one thing, you have to keep your cat in. close the cat door or window or whatever it is that the other cat is using to come in. it has found itself a free ride, and is not going to leave on its own. find out if the cat has an owner, and let them know what is happening. they may or may not be willling to help in the situation. to catch this unwanted cat, set up a trap: put your cat in another room with food and water and close the door. get a kitty carrier and put it in the place where that cat tends to like, put the only available food to it (do not have any other food around that it can get to) into the very back of the carrier, get your broom (rest it on the wall if you have to), and then wait nearby but not too close. when the cat goes in to eat the food, push the door closed with the broom (the sweeping end of it) and hold it closed while you lock it. take the cat to the person who owns it or take the cat to a shelter or the humane society and tell them it is a stray if you have no clue who owns it. (cats should not be allowed to wander the neighborhood anyway - we have several who do here, and it is as much a nuisance to us with the cat pooping and peeing in the flower beds by our front door and patio - it stinks terribly - and chasing away the birds that we encourage to be here as it is for you to have the unwanted one doing the same in your home).

Get a have a heart trap and then take it to a shelter. It obviously desperately wants a home but if it's pooping and peeing all over your house, I can see why you wouldn't want to go through the trouble of training it. On the other hand, that's exactly what I would do. There is NO loyal pet like a pet that has been rescued. Cats are easy to train to a box you know, once they've been shown.

Animal Control

Animal control sounds good but I am in the UK.

I am also allergic to cats so if I came home and found a cat in my house that wouldn't leave and left its muck everywhere I would shut the doors in a room, get a weapon......

basically I would NOT be happy to say the least especially if it wouldn't leave - well it would leave for sure.

Just get a water sprayer, like they use to wet leaves of plants. Cats hate water. This way you'll won't hurt yourselves, nor the cat.

i have 3 solutions. first get a dog to scare it out. secondly, call the pet control service to help u out. and thirdly, if u were in my country that's Nigeria in Africa, there a lot of people specialized in killing cats brutally and u wont be bothered again. that's all i can say.
