...Oh, and you think Christianity is tolerant and non-exclusive. Let's see:
The Inquisition
Burning at the stake
The "one, true religion"
You can't be saved unless you're born again
Only baptized Catholics and receive communion
The Crusades
The Nicene Creed
Gallileo
Joan of Arc
Mortal sin
Dead babies go to limbo
Damnation of souls
Pius XII's doctrine of papal infallability
Pius XII and the Reichkonkordant during World War II
Oral Robert's numerous pleas for money or he'll die
Jimmy Swaggart's damnation of sinners while he whacked off in a hotel room with a hooker
"One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church"
Jim and Tammy Baker's "holy" resort
Murder of Hypatia of Alexandria by a Christian mob
Salem witch hunts
The Thirty Years War
The pogroms
The Troubles in Northern Ireland
Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain forcing Jews to convert or leave the country
The Trulanic Synod
The Fourth Lateran Council, 1215, forcing Jews to wear a distinctive badge on their clothing.
Pope Paul IV's papal bull forcing Jews to wear yellow hats, confining them to ghettos, and bans them from working in most professions.
The Christian Identity Movement
The KKK
Salvation only through Jesus Christ
Heresey
Recognizing on certain "approved" gospels
Tithing
Excommunication
The Great Schism
Charles V's Edict of Worms (calling Martin Luther an outlaw and heretic and permitting anyone to kill him without legal consequences)
Henry XIII and Edward VI
Persecutions by the Church of England
Oops, I'm sorry. What were you saying about intolerance and exclusivity?

You are naive if you think Christianity is not intolerant and exclusive. Have you ever heard of the crusades or the Inquisition? Have you listened to some of the Christians saying that anyone different is damned? If you don't agree with them you are going to hell? No other religion is that intolerant. A Hindu or Buddhist would never say that and the Moslems don't say that nonbelievers are going to hell. Islam has a lot more respect for Christianity than Christianity has for Islam. And don't get me started on the treatment of the Jews by the Christians. Get out some history books and don't waste the yahoo space with your stupidity and bigotry.

Buddhism, Islam, Wiccan and Pagan and other are very tolerant of other religions. I am Wicca and my husband is Budhist. Wars have not been started and innocents slaughtered in the name of my Goddess and God. Christianity has been very intolerent since the idea began. There's was the 'one true god' and anyone who thought otherwise was tortured and killed. People who did not follow christianity were forced to convert or face execution. Now, does this sound tolerant. Even today, those of us who have come out openly about our beliefs are berated, belittled and told we are going to you know where. I have even been told that I should know better!? And I would like to state that I grew up in the christian church and saw how some treated others within their own 'religion' and I knew then that intolerance knows no limits from the sanctimonious christian. (Not all are like that, just some)

Christianity hasn't had a good track record for tolerance in it's history. Consider how Pope Innocent III co-ordinated a strike against the Knights Templar, that previously served him throughout all of Europe (barring scotland who was at war) on the same day with and tortured and killed many of them. Very tolerant. Or today with the banning of same sex marriage and contraception, which contributes not only to exclusivity but furthers AIDS in the world

Civil warfare of words, in spite of the indisputable fact that frightening it should be to some, isn't intolerance. Refusing to embody yet another faith also isn't intolerance. bodily or legally refusing to allow particular religions/beliefs/faiths may be intolerance and the perfect celebration we've of that contained in the U.S. is got here upon contained in the ranks of those who practice no faith and choose all contributors in all branches of our authorities to be as one hundred% freed from non secular impression as they're. in addition they call for the authority to refuse others the Constitutionally certain freedom of speech and top to practice their faith even as of their presence. a basic reality by technique of many who share this ideology is: "keep your faith at living house", as in spite of the indisputable fact that freedom of religion one way or the different potential freedom from publicity to faith. you could still only surmise that they believe those who're committed to God are much better influential than those who participate in each and every perversion popular to mankind. If the overall public of Christians were this intolerant or on an similar time as on the point of intolerant as some may pick to make us out to be, there is no different religions/beliefs/faiths allowed in international places like the U.S. and those who've no faith may had to have depending their personal usa because they could under no circumstances were allowed to ascertain save right here. yet to the overall public of Christians it truly is popular as "free will" and there is no longer some thing intolerant about it.

Before you get on your high horse, you might want to examine Christianity a bit closer.
