I ordered my bridesmaid dress in size 10 at David Bridal, but I lost a lot of weight and it doesn't fit me now. It is too late for alterations...do you think they would let me exchange for a size 8 off the rack. Are those dresses for sale? Anyone done this before? I feel stupid calling if this is not the case.

It has been my experience that Davids is pretty good at being flexible. I was a bridesmaid while I was pregnant and another bridesmaid was nursing, so we wanted to make sure that they would be flexible.

As long as you have a receipt, I don't see a reason that they couldn't exchange it for a size 8 providing they have one in stock. If they don't have one in stock, you can ask them to check other stores and have one sent to that store. I have also had to track down a dresses of a certain shade and size for a bride and I had a good experience in wrangling them.

It also can depend on the individual store employees and manager about how cooperative they can be. Good luck & congrats on the weight loss!

Relax. This happens to a lot of people. Give them a call to do alterations, or take it to a local shop and have it done if they want to charge you too much to do it there.

Call and ask...the worst that's going to happen is they will say no, but it's worth a shot, right? If they won't, see if there is a place nearby that can do fast alterations.

they'll let you exchange it if they have it still in your size and nothing is wrong with it. like if you have taken it in already. i've done so at a David's Bridal.

If you haven't worn it or altered it, then there shouldn't be a problem. :)
