She is not a boy, she is a girl.

You are the Alpha dog - pack leader. You must get control of this. Talk to your vet and a Pekingese breeder and structure a diet. Set a daily feed, water, walk schedule. Start small - work your way up.

Do not let your dog gorge itself. You are the responsible party here. Take charge. Your little doggie's life depends on it.

Definately get him/her a physical to rule out medical causes and to get a baseline of his/her health

Hey there! Hope i can help, unfortunately not sure i have all the infomation i need. You mentioned your dog was limping, yoou didn't say if this was a new thing. Also it would be useful to know if you've noticed your dog licking or biting at a certain spot on the leg in question. If he's been licking and he's any colour but black the tell tale sign of licking is a kind of red orange discolouration. if its on the paw itself i would suggest you rinse the paw ina slightly salty solution as this work as a mild disinfectant, carefully inspect the pads on the bottom of the paw for cuts, torns, little pieces of glass etc, if this is normally then inspect in between the "toes" make sure there is no foreign object, pebbles tend to get stuck here and they can really hurt. If there is glass or anything else do no remove it unless you can do so and that you can do so without inflicting futher pain. If not seek medical attention. If you notice a discolouration on any other area of the leg especially joints changes are its athritus. Large breed dogs over 5 years old are especially prone to this. i would suggest if after checking all other avenues and finding no solution, then maybe changing doggys diet to a a "less active diet" food would be a good idea. Some dogs are just snugglers, they wouldn't know what excercise was if it jumped up and bit them on the butt! However tone down the excercise till you have figured out the problem as you dont want to risk making your pet go lame. Once you have the problem resolved, try to take a walk 3 times a day for 10 mins working up till doggy gets into better shape then reduce frequency but increase time. Hope this helps!

Your dog may have a thyroid condition. Pekingese can be lazy, but it would be better to rule out an easily treated medical condition first. Take him to the vet.

Well if he is really that fat then you shuld just feed him less and make him go on short walks to start with then make them longer and longer each time. And play with him like in the backyard toss a ball to him and make him run or make him run for a treat or something , just keep him active.

They say dogs are like their owners. Are you setting a bad example?
