Essentially yes, it's dehydration...but alcohol also strips B vitamins out of your system, which contributes heavily to the hangover feeling.

If you can manage it, drink a bunch of water before you go to bed and eat something small and take a B-complex or multivitamin. You'll feel better when you wake up.

Because you were so drunk you don't remember falling down the stairs! Seriously, I lake to always drink water while I am out drinking to avoid headaches. Drinking it the next day is also important, but the damage had already been done. Never drink on an empty stomach and remember that some people get headaches from the sulfites in red wine.

PS Alcohol is not poison. Anything in over moderation is unhealthy.

A hangover headache is caused simply by excessive alcohol consumption. The discomfort of hangover headache is experienced the morning after because alcohol causes the blood vessels to swell or dilate which, in turn, triggers headache.

A hangover is essentially dehydration. The headache is from being dehydrated.
Drink lots of water after drinking alcohol to prevent dehydration.
If your hangover includes vomiting, this is a sign that you've poisoned yourself and your body is attempting to cleanse itself by removing the poison.
Yuck! I hate hangovers!

Alcohol is a POISION. Yes, water will help alleviate dehydration. But ultimately, you are poisoning yourself.

The best way to avoid a hangover - drink less, or don't drink at all.

DEHYDRATION IS NOT THE MAIN REASON, it is part of it because alcohol is a volitable substance but the hangover comes from additives in ur drink so drink skyy the most pure vodka out there and mostly from ur dead brain cells, its the dead brain cells that cause most of the hangover
