It depends. If you spend about 40-60 dollars you should tip 20%, if you spend more than that, 10 percent is sufficient. I spent 200 on my hair a few weeks ago and a 20 dollar tip was enough. As for the assistant, I'm assuming the one who washes or colors your hair, 5 dollars is about right.

It depends on what you get done. Give $1 to the person that does your hair. As for your hairdresser, give about $5-6 for a cut, wash, and blow. For an updo or a perm, give between $10-15.

It depends on how much you spend and if it is a salon like haircuttery or a salon more up-scale. daljack mention that if the stylist is the owner of the salon you don't have to tip. That is definatly not right my mother owns a hair salon and lives on her tips. Are family would be broke without tips. It also just not moraly right theres no difference between her and the rest of the stylist.

If your stylist is the owner you don't need to tip. Otherwise it's 15-20% for the stylist & 10% for the assistant.

ok look that is so nice that you care .A pizza delivery person gets 2 to 3 dollars, so i think if your stylist listens to your needs and you have the extra money 5 is the best tip and she or he will always go out of there way to remember you.If you get a color service 7 to 10 depending on the hours they spend and the products you buy.

20% - for services such as hair and massages. Assistants I'm not sure I usually give them $2-3, and it's usually out of the entire tip.

if its a simple cut i give $2 but if its like a perm or a highlighting i would give more like $3 or $4. usually the same person washes and cuts at my place but if there is a shampoo girl i just give her a $1.

Depends on what you are having done. If it's just a cut I would say at least a couple of dollars. That is if you are happy with the cut too.
