you're an idiot, no one wants to hear your atheist crap, and in the bible all you have to do is proclaim with your mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Saviour, then you will get into heaven, its not that hard, and think about it you moron, if everybody lived by the rules of the bible there would be NONE of the problems we have today in this world.

Ugh. When are people going to stop blaming the world's problems on religion (or lack of a religion) and start taking responsibility for themselves?

The world's problems steam from selfishness, greed, anger and a lack of respect and tolerance. Period. It has nothing to do with what someone choses to believe in - the above proves that very well. Look how Person A calls Person B an "idiot" and "moron" just because Person B is an Atheist.

Granted, I don't know the whole story behind why Person A called Person B names, but I think my argument is still valid. If Person A was offended by what Person B has said, then Person A needs to practice his religion (Christianity, I'm assuming) and either walk away or calmly explain his position - whether or not he was in the wrong or right. Instead, he chose to unload all of his anger issues onto someone - which was a very disappointing move to make. Now, he ends up, not only making himself look bad, but making his whole group (Christians [still assuming]) look bad.

Really, displaying anger is a no-win situation. I hope everyone, some day soon, will learn from examples like this.

That is a terrible and terribly unchristian way to answer any question. It is also very incorrect and egotistical. To say that 'no one' is interested in something is rude, untrue and dismissive of every other human being on the planet.

Since The Bible teaches us to have compassion and love for other people, that answer would clearly seem to be the opposite of what a Christian should give.

Faith is a gift given by God. It is not something that one has due to any particular 'virtue', nor is it an 'easy way out' as that answer seems to indicate.

Also, jarawa, The Bible had nothing to do with the crusades, the war in iraq or anything like that save as a platform for cynical, powerful men to use and pervert so that they can sway the masses who also have not read it.

Perhaps before people make statements about what The Bible says, they might consider actually reading it.

I disagree with you answer in a way if we stopped and look at the whole total picture we have the right to voice our opinion, Just because they have a different one from yours doesn't mean that they are an idiot. It only means that some people don't want to learn or try to understand what is going on.

Another think telling them that they are an idiot well it just doesn't work. I know I have a friend right now that doesn't want to hear the truth about herself, the choice is simple you can listen or you don't have too it is your choice.

And why worry about them anyway? They have there own opinion just like you do. Don't worry about what they say it is not important enough for you to be calling them an idiot. Just do what it is that you have to do and move on. If they don't get it then that is truly on them and between them and God.

Hey, I'm a Christian and the way this guy responded was way rude!!!! He didn't do a good job proclaiming God. I'm sorry that this happened to you. Most Christians would not reply this way..I hope, because we are God's representatives and if we are acting like that, then how does that show God. And BTW, what he said about EVERYONE following the Bible would make this a perfect world...theoretically yas, but man has sin, so in reallity, not possible on Earth. I can't wait till I get to Heaven!!!!!

Just because someone claims to be a Christian doesn't make them one. I think this is the issue that so many people have with "so called" or "self proclaimed" Christians. A Christian is loving, tolerant, helpful, slow to anger and quick to forgive. If you encounter otherwise, then they are probably not a Christian. I have white skin, but just because I claim to be black, doesn't make it so. I must admit thought that some of the Atheist rhetoric is abusive and can get even a good Christian down. Why not let's try and respect one another.

All "Christians" are the first ones to spout quotes from a book that has no author and has been written by admitted illiterates that couldn't read or write. It's the most widely published scam in the world today. Their basic philosophy is "Listen to us, and do what we say, and give us your money, or you'll burn in hell forever." Of course when they get caught having sex with prostitutes, and each other's wives, and in some cases, husbands, it's okay because they pray afterward, and all is forgotten and forgiven.
I this country we give you the right to believe whatever you want, no matter how ridiculous it is. (see the Reverend Sun-Yung Moon and L.Ron Hubbard the science fiction writer) Why is it that all those Christians had to resort to torture and murder in order to make sure that everyone believed what they believe. (re; crusades, inquisition, witch hunts, etc.) Supposedly, according to Christian belief, God gave us all free will. I guess HE for got to say, "Unless you stop bowing down to me or doing what I say, in which case, I'm going to screw you for all eternity". Yep- it all makes perfect sense to me! Since the Christians have it right, and all the rest of us are idiots, how come thay're not rallying together and jumping onto the war machine against the Muslims who are planning religious wars (jihad) against all of THEM? I gues they're belief doesn't go quite as far as giving up THEIR lives to make it into heaven in a hurry!!

I don't believe ghost1980 is personally responsible for any muslims being killed. Besides they are not the only ones who have died in Iraq. Seems everone has forgotten Sep. 11. When, in the name of allah, nearly 300 people were killed in NYC. I haven't forgoten, since I lost most of my co-workers along with two relatives. I think ghost was just saying people in general should try and follow the bible closer. He may have been hard about how he said it, which negates his follow the golden rule statement, but people need to quit using religion as an excuse for war. If it is truly GOD's will, he will take care of it himself as he did with Babylon in the bible. Just my thoughts, not pushing anything on anyone.

That is a funny response from a so called christian. It's funny because he says that the world would not have all of these problems if people would just follow the rules of the bible, but what is he/she doing? Oh man. You can't question some peoples beliefs. I myself question my own beliefs on a daily basis, you must do that. Meh. Some people are just so completely un-understanding.

"if everybody lived by the rules of the bible there would be NONE of the problems we have today in this world."

Yea, let's follow the grand examples of our Christian world leaders. Take President Bush, the war guy. Or how about Bill Clinton?

If everyone followed the Bible, there would be no freedom of speech, there would be no freedom of will, there would be no stupid flamers like that guy. Where's the fun in that?

No, of course not! If you were to read all of the responses from christians to all questions in the the religious catergory, I am sure you would find that most would not answer in that fashion.
Any reasonable person cannot assume that a few people speak for an entire group. A certainly didn't appoint such a person to speak for me, as I also prefer a more tactful approach.
