bahammas anyone?

Has anybody been to freeport or nassau bahammas? what's it like? is the beach water really cystal clear? I am going on a cruise to the bahammas and am visting those places. Do they like the american girls to where they will bother me? I hope not!!! Are they always trying to sell you something? I've never been so i am curious

is it worth taking an exercusion to the atlantis hotel where you will see a walk through aquarium???

just a heads up on anything would be greatly appreciated? i am leaving behind my 5 month old son and my boyfriend..my dad and 8 year old daughterare coming with us and i need to know about cell phones on the cruise or at the bahammas?

i am going on the carnival sensation for 4 days

i get seasickness so my boyfriend told me to bring bonnine...will it work? I dont want to be sick the whole trip

Nassau was my first real vacation many years ago and the water was so crystal clear that it looks like you can drink it. Its that way because of the white sand bottoms. Just stay on the beaten path with others and you will be fine; don't go wandering off at night with strangers you may meet. The people in the straw market will pursue you to buy; but that's their livelihood, not a sideline. They will barter the price with you.

The prime place to go to the beach or to stay in Nassau is Paradise Island; that's where the Atlantis hotel is. You can walk it from the port, its about a mile or two or take a taxi.

Ok - I have been to Freeport and Nassau. First of all, in Freeport, they will ask you if you want your hair braided -nonstop. Just keep saying no thank you. The water is really crystal clear. It is such a great place to snorkel. I would suggest doing the Dolphin Encunter if you like Dolphins. It is a bit pricey, but a real blast. Once in a lifetime thing. I would sugggest you go out Snorkeling - contact Stuart's Coves for info. If you can't then Atlastis is neat. It is not what I would call a must see if you have aquariums in your local area that you visit. It is okay, somewhat neat. Hope this helps. Any questions, feel free to e-mail me at [e-mail]

Been to both, both are beautiful. The water is clear but not crystal clear, I've seen nicer water. People will come up to you on the beach trying to sell you drinks, tours, shell necklaces, etc. I had a pina colada in a coconut shell once for only 6 bucks.

As for Atlantis, its definitely worth taking the excursion. Atlantis holds the largest marina in the world. And for cell phones, they work for about 30 min. after you leave home port. They work in Key West, and Puerto Rico if you have a popular provider like Verizon. Enjoy your cruise.

Yes, water is Cristal clear they are not busy building The Palm like Dubai is doing..


You are very lucky.. men looking at you?? if you beautifull every where in the world will look however you must remember, Bahamas live of the turism so they know how to treat their 'bread'.

i was worried the same way you were. A matter of fact i took a cruise there too from Florida to Bahamas. The water is blue and amazing. The people dont try to sell you things and the beach is perfect.

It is beautiful. The water is as clear as you hear about. Also DO NOT get your hair braided by the locals. LICE!!!!! But everything else is great there. Tourist trap.

the exclution is not necessary, just fgo by a cab at night and u get in for free. the water is clear...
