First ask yourself if you really know the true meaning of love because the person who cares for you probably already knows the answer to that question and they probably love you as much as they care for you. You may not always like how they feel about the situation, but when you say they care for you that means very much. The first thing you have to learn about love is that you don't just love somebody. You learn to like them first. The more you learn to like them the more you can learn to love them. After you've been through some rough times together and you're still together then you learn the true meaning of love. Next love is patient. If the one you love really cares for you and loves you then they can and will wait until all issues are resolved with the one who cares about you. I think you may really already know the answer to your question maybe you are just looking for support or justification for what you've decided. We all come to a point in life where we have to make our own decisions. Whatever decision you make you have to live with it whether it's right or wrong but it's your decision no one Else's.

The person who loves me. Been there and done that and got the tshirt for it. If I had chosen the guy who had always loved me, we would still be together today. As it is, we maintained our friendship and have stayed friends for more than 31 years now, while the guy I loved ended up to be a liar and a cheat and we divorced after 14 years of marriage. So much for hind sight.

The person who loves you is the person you should choose. The person you love may not love you. People are funny like that.
Once you like someone that doesn't mean they will like you back. So to avoid being hurt, you should try to learn to love the one who loves you. Time will tell if it works out or not.

To be selfish, I would choose the person I love. However, if that person doesn't love you, then it is not worth it. To be honest, I would choose the person who loves me. Maybe I can grow to love them.
