Right now I'm trying to get him to load up a dumpster that was delivered yesterday.

Going on strike will only make the situation worse. It then becomes a challenge of wills, ego, etc. And trust me on this: If he is a man, he will fight you all the way.
Most likely, there is something missing. He isnt getting something that he needs out of you, or the house.
You know how some women will stop having sex because they arent getting something out of the relationship? Men do the same thing, but with helping out.....
You need to sit down and think if there is something that he has been mentioning lately, and then do YOUR part to offer it. And then he should do HIS part. Normally, this stems from one of three things:
1) His mommy did it all for him.
2) Hes just flat out lazy. (Good luck with this guy.)
3) Hes missing something/unhappy around the house.
I would venture to guess that #3 is pretty common.
When men feel that the home isnt completely kosher, they just stop caring. Trust me, been there.
So either listen to him, or just flat out ask.
Wheter its true or not, I bet he feels slighted, or unappriciated, etc....
If you can actually be honest with each other, you might be surprised at what he will do.
Also, maybe make a list of things that the two of you are willing to do. Maybe he hates dishes, but doesnt mind taking out the trash, etc......

Tell him to,he is the man of the house.Is he lazy or just don't like doing certain thing around there.Both husband and wife need to put forth effort to maintain a house hold,weather it be filling a dumpster or washing dishes.Just tell him you aint doing it by your self,and that you will help him do this,because it has to be done.

Poing to the dumpster, point to what needs to be loaded into it and GRUNT Then shove him in the direction of where it is that needs to be loaded.

I agree with the first guy. SILENTLY go on strike. Stop doing all those things you do for him, cooking, cleaning, anything. Let the house get so bad that he can't stand it. Then he will ask you what's going on. Then tell him the piont you were trying to make.
