If a homeless man is standing in the corner looking up at the sky and speaking bible verses, everyone looks at him and condems him as crazy, a loony. Why is that, shouldn't it be said that he knows the way and is going to heaven instead of condeming him as crazy?

Yes it should. Or the very least leave him alone because we live in a free country. Believe it or not, I have a friend in that situation and a judge ordered him to an asylum for a 30 day evaluation. He stayed longer than that and just recently got out. People in power do what they want, period.
My friend was actually handing out tracks and trying to spread the good news of Jesus Christ when he got picked up.

Who knows this guy could be an angel of our Lord.
It is the narrow minded that condem teachings of our Lord.

I think times have changed and most people at least have a rough idea as to what is stated in the holy books. If that guy were to be a Professor explaining the bible in a more explanatory and relative to current issue kinda way most people will pay attention.

How many people do you see doing this... not many.

So that person is out of the expected norm and discounted by "normal" people. Is it right or wrong? Well I'm not going to be judge and jury here because that would be inconsistent (judging those who are judging the homeless guy)..

There is no logical inconsistency in my believing that he is a crazy man. I think the same thing when I see Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson do the same thing.

You seem to understand as the homeless man does, problem is the world does not understand God and what Jesus is about..
Faith is gained through knowledge, and knowledge through learning.

You're talking about a homeless man. What comes to my mind is he doesn't wear nice outfit and he's a homeless man!
